This one may be short, but the next one will be up in a day or two. Sorry for taking a while to upload, I was working on my other novel. Thanks to all of you loyal readers who have stayed with this book. The end is almost near! That's Luke ---------> (So. Hot. He even has a skater boy look to him) ;)

I found myself in my bed the next morning. Everything was a blur, and I didn’t even know how I got there. I slowly sat up, taking in my surroundings. I was still wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday, and I saw my skateboarding gear tucked away neatly in a corner.

I got out of bed and went downstairs wondering if Shane knew what had happened to me. But all I got was a sticky-note stuck to the fridge.

Gone out to skate park at mall. Meet me there when you’re done breakfast. – Shane

Well that was nice of him, I guess. He at least cared enough to leave a note, and then ask me to come meet him.

I prepared some scrambled eggs and toast with orange juice, and then got dressed. Today, I didn’t even feel like going out to board, so I decided to wear my most girlish outfit yet. I pulled on a pair of ripped short-shorts, a white flowing crop-top matching it with a long silver key necklace. Then, I slipped on my only pair of black flats and I applied fresh make-up. I let my blond hair down, seeing that I could change it up a little.

I made my way over to my mirror, and scrutinized myself. I thought I looked pretty damn good. Satisfied with my outfit, I brushed my teeth and headed out the door to one eventful day.

When I got to the “underground” skate park, I looked for Shane. He was pretty easy to spot, knowing that he’s always surrounded by his friends. He seemed to have seen me, because when I got closer, all of his friends’ eyes turned towards me.

Shane disunited from his circle of friends and made his way towards me.

“Where’s your gear?” He said straight up.

“I didn’t feel like boarding today,” I replied, shifting my stance while crossing my arms over my chest. “Do you know what happened yesterday?”

“Yeah, don’t you?” Shane asked, confusion clouding his face.

“No, not really. All I remember was being here,” I said, motioning towards the skate park. “Alone, until some one came up to me.”

Suddenly his face became all protected and guarded.

“Who? Who the hell did something to you?”

“Calm down, I fine, okay? Someone just tried me, but someone else saved me. I just don’t know who.” I said, hoping Shane would know.

“The same guy who brought you home, I guess. Chloe, you don’t know who beat the crap out of some gang leader guy for you? You don’t know who brought you home, worried as hellfor your health and safety?” Shane said all of this like I did something wrong. Well sorry, but I was nearly knocked-out.

“No, I fainted, how was I supposed to know!” I cried, starting to hate on Shane for always giving me a rough time.

“Okay, I’m sorry. I’m just worried about you. I’m trying my best to protect you.”

“Well I can take care of myself, thanks.” I replied, sounding mean and angry. I didn’t want to cause a whole lot of trouble, but Shane was placing a lot of pressure on me.

“Didn’t seem that way last night.” That really shut me up. He didn’t even hesitate to say it. And worst of all, it was true. I wasn’t able to even defend myself from a nuisance. By my amazing luck, I got saved.

“So…who saved me, then?” I asked quietly, looking down towards my feet. I couldn’t let Shane see my shame.

“Maybe you should ask him instead.” I was confused then, gingerly raising my head. Shane gave me an approving look, while he stepped away, leaving an empty slot. I looked around, confused to what he was implying, when suddenly, Luke stepped into the once vacant space, smiling.
