Chapter 5.
A L L Y
Why do I have to say things without thinking? Why couldn't I have been born with my lips stuck together so I wouldn't be able to say stupid bullshit to get me paired up with Matt Lavery for a stupid English assignment.
Now, these were the thoughts running through my mind as I continuously banged my head against my locker. Yeah, that's right. I like to let out my anger by giving myself insane headaches.
"Ally," Holly said unsurely, watching me as I smacked my head on the metal. "Please stop. You're kinda freaking me out."
Smack.
"Ally!" She grabbed my arm, pulling me away from my locker. I'm surprised the damn thing didn't have a dent in it. Groaning in annoyance, I turned to my very confused and worried bestfriend.
"Holly, some people are different when it comes to making ourselves feel better," I explained sarcastically. "Some girls like to drown their sorrows while stuffing their faces with ice-cream. Some girls like to cry themselves to sleep. I like to smack my head on very hard surfaces, okay?"
Holly rolled her eyes, and inter-locked her arm with mine as we walked to the cafeteria. "Ally, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be that bad."
Slowly, I threateningly turned to look at this idiotic female I call my bestfriend. Holly caught my gaze, and quickly looked away, probably regretting saying anything. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, HOLLY. THAT'S RIGHT.
"Matt's not that bad," she muttered, shrugging her shoulders. "Really, Ally, he isn't."
"Maybe to you he isn't that bad," I pointed out, bluntly. "He actually likes you as a human being."
"He likes you, too!" She protested, frowning a little. "What, you think the guy hates you or something? Al, we've all been friends for the longest time."
I began to shake my head rapidly, refusing to accept any of these lies Holly was trying to shove into my brain. Matt Lavery does not like me at all. Sure, we somewhat get along when we're around other people, but if it were to get down to the two of us....
Yeah, we don't like each other. It's as clear as crystal. Matt Lavery is your more-than-typical jock. He's gorgeous -- not even I can deny that, seriously. He's extremely popular, and he's just a pure asshole. When guys know that they're attractive, that's when they become sons of bitches. And that's exactly what Matthew is -- a son of a bitch hockey player-football player-Hollister-model material asshole. Yeah, that was quite a ramble but you know what I mean.
Then there's me. Matt doesn't generally tolerate girls like me. You know what I mean -- the girl who listens to music guys like Matt would consider "Satan Worshipping shit". The girl who cakes her face in makeup and glitter -- not because she needs to, but because she wants to. The girl who chooses to dye her hair crazy colours whenever she can because let's face it: boring is boring. Weird is rad.
So you put a guy like Matt and a girl like me together, and what do you get? Not a very good combination, I'll tell you that. We got absolutely nothing in common as far as I'm concerned.
It's like....taking a Big Mac and fries and putting them in a blender. A Big Mac and fries from Mcdonalds are blessed, right? Well, if you put them in a blender and make some Mcdonald's shake....it isn't going to turn out so tasty. Does that even make sense with my situation? I don't even know. Matt's a Big Mac. I'm Fries. We're both fine on our own, maybe even together as a meal. However, if you blend us together....we become Gunk. Shit. Mush. Mcdick poop. Not very pleasant, right? Exactly.
