Freaks: 3rd Chapter

Episode 14: Operation Campus.

She knocked on the door and patiently waited in the hallway for someone to open. Few moments later, Nicki opened the door, she looked at the blonde woman standing there..

- " how can i help you?! " she smiled with confusion.

- " Uh.. you must be nicki! Karen sent me to escort you back to the mansion.. " Kat informed her.

- " Im sorry.. but who are you?! "

- " Katherine stone. I work with Graham bentley.. were lunar hunters! "

- " Right..! Makayla told me a thing or two.. "

- " Yeah, so youre ready? "

- " Oh, no, Um, maybe i wasnt clear enough when i told karen i dont want any part of this anymore! "

- " What do you mean? "

- " look around, were in a campus, a college campus, im in a dorm, studying, thats what a 21 year old should be doing.. not burying her bestfriend and fighting off lunar freaks! "

- " Honey.. " Kat sarcastically said " if by what you mean, youre looking for a normal life.. than , im sorry but youre such a retard! Open youre eyes kid! You look around.. Were all in danger, and if you dont come with me right now, than what happens next will be on your hands.. And not mine! "

Kats tone intimidated Nicki, She looked behind and saw jackson sitting on the couch listening to music while reading some book..

- " Wait a second, i need to get some things.. "

She closed the door and went to talk to jackson..

- " But are you sure you wanna go back? " he held her hand carefully.

- " they need us.. we must go back. " Disappointment filled her heart. She for once thought that having a normal life would be.. possible! But no.. not for her kind!

- " Theres an exit from the garden that takes us straight to the parking lot. "

- " i thought the garden closes after nine..? "

She grinned before looking at nickki and saying..

- " I know, thats why were taking this trail! "

- " Really? And how are we gonna do that? " jackson said as they left the dorm building and arrived to the closed gate of the study garden.

- " Watch and learn kiddo.. " And in a blink of an eye, Kat shattered the gate lock with her silver-sharp nails.

- " Wasn't that hard now, was it? " She giggled looking at the confused teenagers.

The garden of the campus was basically a big circle of grass located in its center, an old well representing the symbole of the college. There was benches of stone built randomly in the garden, but no trees were showing. They walked into the garden where a pale colored fog was blocking their visions, and then they started hearing chants coming from the middle. the voices got higher and higher as they got closer to the center, where a group of hypnotised students were gathered in a circle, holding hands, and chanting words from an ancient forgotten language. What intrigued the freaks the most was a glowing orb of green light that was floating above the well, where the students formed the circle. Scared of whats right in front of her Nickkitta whispered to the others..

- " What the hell is going on?!! "

- " No time to explain! " Kat replied " I need to break the circle! "

- " What?! How?! " She asked with confusion.

- " by killing one of the chanters.. " kat calmly replied.

- " Noo, no , no! Lady nobody is killing anybody! Like, are you insane?!?! These kids attend classes with me! Theyre a bunch of stoned immature adults that are figuring their lives out! You cant kill them!! "

- "Im sorry but its the only way! "

And as she took her first steps to kill one of the chanters, Jackson jumped infront of her, with his eyes red, his fangs out and his claws ready to attack..

- " you heard her! " he said with a deep voice " no one is killing anyone! "

- " Are you serious?! " Kat laughed sarcastically " You morons, the more time we leave this circle, the more powerful these things will become! "

- " What things?! " Nickki innocently asked.

Suddenly a beam of light emerged from the floating orb and sucked jackson into it.

Nickkita started screaming and panicking, but kat remained calm; she swiftly reached into one of her many pockets and took out a throwing knife that she aimed and threw at one of the many students. The second the circle broke, the floating orb turned into beams of light that blinded the girls for a few moments..

- " Jackson?! " Nickki called for him, covering her eyes from the green shiny light.

- " Jax are you okay?! " She repeated with tears rolling down her cheeks.

Suddenly the sound of stone breaking, broke the reigning silence. The claws of the wolf grabbed the old stone of the well, and pushed itself out of it..

- " Jackson! " Nickki screamed happily.

But as she was about to start running towards him, kat stopped her saying..

- " wait! Theres something wrong with him.. look at his eyes"

This time the wolf boy had bright shimmering green eyes; his hands and claws were surrounded by a floating green fire-like matter. He stood there looking at the dead bodies, and then said..

- " Im.. alive! " his voice was different, which only irritated the girls more..

- " Jax.. you okay?! " She slowly said.

- " Im better than ever! " he smiled with his eyes glowing and his fangs out, before waving his wolf-like hand causing both girls to lose consciousness.

After thr girls fell unconscious, he chanted some words causing the dead students to wake up, and then said..
- " Now, how do i get to the élanoar mansion? "
