Freaks: 3rd Chapter

Episode 2: Powerless.

- " it was a substance that they injected me with, back when I was captive at the organisation.. it never affected me, and that's why they wanted to experiment on my kind, and find out why I was different. Still the cylixia serum, also known as bloodroots for our kind, is widely used by Hunters,  to weaken us.. "

- " weaken?! " she paused " I thought you said 'kill' ! "

- " from what I understood, when Eva's powers were triggered she couldn't maintain as solid form in one body, that's why she jumps into others.. When I threw that syringe inside of her, it had a dose capable of killing 10 freaks, in addition to neutralising whatever powers they had.. so with Eva dead, Stacey is the only one left in her body.. Hopefully! "

Suddenly Jackson barged into the room where Karen and  Makayla were at, announcing that  Stacey is awake from their 2 days slumber. The group of Freaks quickly rushed to the infirmary were Jesse was still getting fixed up..

- " She's awake! " Nicki was standing beside her bed.

- " She mumbled some words, I couldn't catch them, but I know for sure she's awake! "

- " What about Haydon?! " Karen asked anxiously.

- " There isn't any signs of progress.. " Nicki said in frustration " but on the bright side, Jesse's getting better too! " She added.

The next day, Karen and Jackson went to town to grab some medical supplies that the infirmary was missing, and Nicki took Jesse out for a small walk, leaving makayla and Leon on watch for the half conscious Stacey..

- " So what do you wanna do?! " Makayla addressed Leon who was looking out the window, in attempt to kill both, time and boredom!

- " Aren't we supposed to watch over these guys?! " he said looking at Stacey and Haydon.

- " We are, but we can still have some fun doing it.. "

- " So.. What's your idea of doing something fun?! "

- " oh my god! " She yelled.

- " What?! " he panicked.

- " I've been here for nearly two weeks now, and you haven't even showed me your powers! " she laughed

- " Gosh, you scared me to death.. I haven't shown you my powers because my powers don't define who I am in life : people see me as a human,  not a Freak! "

- " Seriously dude, I've never seen something more fun and action packed than the Freaks and their powers and you totally sucked all the fun out of it! "

- " What can I say.. I'm a buzz kill! " he joked.

- " totally! But seriously what are your powers?! "

- " I'm telekinetic! " but seeing that makayla did not catch the word, he added " I move things with my mind.. "

- " that is- " Makayla wanted to share her excitement with her telekinetic friend, but was interrupted with Stacey mumbling some uncomprehensive words..

- " ... "

- " Stacey?! " they both jumped.

The half conscious girl slowly opened her black eyes, blocking out the obnoxious rays of light that were penetrating them. She first looked around as if she'd never seen the room, than looked at the anxious makayla and softly smiled..

- " y- you saved m- my ass! " Her voice was barely heard.

- " How are you feeling?! "

- " Okay, I, I guess! " she said attempting to get out of bed.

- " Whoa! Easy there! Where are you going?! " Leon interfered.

- " I'm sorry but who are you?! "

- " Leon.. The guy whose sister you killed! "

Stacey stared at him, trying to understand the words he'd just said. it seemed like Eva quitting her body, left some blank spaces inside her memories, especially of those that Eva made. But with makayla giving him a cruel stare he quickly added..

- " Uh, I'm , I'm joking! " He smiled.

- " Well that was lovely! " Makayla faked a smile " Leon, mind joining me outside the room for a sec?! "

- " Uh Ofcour- " She quickly grabbed him by the arm and out of the room.

- " What the hell was that about! " She furiously whispered.

- " I had to get it out! Seeing her reminds me of my sisters death.. that's not- "

- " You to get it out?! The girl just woke up after someone was inside her body, do you UNDERSTAND how f*cked up that is?! You can't just go around throwing heavy words and round vulnerable people! "

- " She killed my sis- "

- " Don't ever say that! " She yelled " we all saw what she went through, and how that cruel bitch made her do things she never wanted to do! " He blankly stared at makayla after she finished and after that he simply walked away!..

Makayla walked into the room to see Stacey standing Infront of the window..

- " I think we all agreed that you can't leave the bed yet.. "

- " I can't feel them! " she stared into the oblivion.

- " What?! "

- " My powers Makayla! "

- " I CANT FEEL THEM! "
