“The best gifts come from the heart, not the store.”  ~Sarah Dessen

Brooklyn's POV-

I sighed as I looked through a stack of old records sitting on the shelf. That little twit hadn't told me his birthday was coming up. I wondered if he thought that I just automatically knew it since he was famous, but immediatly felt guitly for thinking like that. Harry wasn't like that. He was down to earth and probably just didn't want to make a big deal out of it.

Now I had one days to figure out what to get him and I was frantic. I had to get him a good gift. I don't know why, but for some reason I felt like it had to be perfect. I wanted him to love my gift. It had to be something that no one else had gotten him and it had to be special.

One major problem besides the time crunch was the lack of money. I was living on a college student budget which wasn't a lot of money. Even though I knew Harry wouldn't mind if I got him something cheap, I wanted it to be perfect.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I checked the ID. It was Lily. "Hey Lily," I answered.

"Hey Brooklyn. How's the shopping going?" She asked.

I sighed, "Not too well. I still can't think of what to get him."

"Oh well I'm sure you will find something. Don't worry girl. Okay so the reason why I was calling was to let you know that Mrs. Phillips resceduled dance practice and now it's tonight from 4-8. I just got an email about it."

"Crap!" I groaned. "So I literally have like two hours to find a decent present."

"Well just get him something from the heart and he won't mind. He's not that type of guy, Cookie," Lily adviced.

I rolled my eyes at the mention of my annoying nickname. Someday I was going to get her back for letting that slip to Harry. "Okay I will be back at the house at three-thirty so we can head over there together. Is that okay?"

"Mhmm. See ya them." With that she hung up and I went back to my present searching.

I felt my phone vibrate again. This time it was a text from Louis. Hey Brooklyn. If you didn't already know Harry's birthday is tomorrow. Were going to throw him a 'little' party to celebrate it. I know Harry would love it if you came.

I laughed at the emphasis on the word little. There was no way the party was going to be little. That's one thing I admired about the boys, they knew how to party. I blushed when I read that part about Harry wanting me to come. It's just because y'all are friends, not because he likes you. He's over you remember? I thought to myself.

After a couple of moments I responded to Louis, Thanks for the invite. I'm actually getting his present right now. He didn't even tell me!  I had to find out from Lily. I sent it and a few moments later I got a respond. Jesus this boy was a fast texter. What are you getting him?

I would love to know what I was getting him too. If only I could think of something to get him. I mean I know a lot about him like his favorite movie, or favorite food, but that's stuff that everyone knows. I wanted it to be unique. I thought about all the things Harry had told me when finally I thought of something. Actually Louis I just thought of a good gift. U will find out when he opens it. I know you're not good a keeping secrets. Sorry Lou :)

I put my phone back in my pocket and smiled. Hopefully my present would be good enough. Hopefully.

"Straigten your arms ladies this is not play time!" Mrs. Phillip chastised.

I looked up at the clock. Only ten more minutes. I breathed in and out and continued with the movements of the dance, following the lead of the girl in front of me. I looked over to see Mrs. Phillips staring intently at me and I blushed. Was it a good thing or a bad thing that she was staring at me?
