Looking Through Pictures

Dan:

"Bye! Going to Liz's now!" Caitlin said to both of you. "See you Monday!" She leaped out the door.

You looked at Dan.

"What do you want to do?"

"I don't know." He shrugged.

"Ooh! I know how we can start the weekend!" You got up and walked to your bedroom.

A few minutes later, you came back with a digital camera.

"Let's take a stroll down memory lane."

You opened up to the first picture, which is Caitlin right after she was born and you're holding her.

"Aww! Look at how sweet that little angel is."

"I know. Adorable!"

You went to the next picture. It was of her wearing the flower crown and holding a llama.

"This is her first birthday!" Dan pointed out. "She looks so tiny!"

You went to the next picture, it was of her and Dil playing together.

You and Dan spent the evening looking at pictures together, laughing about memories. Oblivious to the fact that Caitlin was about to get in trouble.

Phil:

You heard a honk outside while you were looking at pictures.

"Oh! That's my ride." Dil said. "I'll see you Sunday night."

"Bye Dil! Love you!" You and Phil waved. Dil waved back and walked out the door.

"He's a good kid." Phil smiled at you.

"Yes. He is."

"What are you looking at, love?"

"Pictures."

"Can I see?"

You nodded.

"Here's the one of Caitlin's 10th birthday party."

"Remember when he insisted to make her a birthday cake?"

"Yeah, and her face when she saw it?"

"Priceless."

You went to the next picture.

"Dil's 10th birthday! This is when they both accidentally walked under the mistletoe."

In this picture, they were both standing awkwardly under a mistletoe, red-faced.

You flipped to the next picture, where Caitlin was kissing Dil's cheek.

"Poor girl." Phil chuckled. "She's been in the friendzone for the longest."

You laughed.

"Don't let Dan hear that! He seems very touchy about Caitlin's love life."

Phil shrugged.

"Oh, here's Christmas!" You pointed. "That's when Dil got a remote control airplane and annoyed Caitlin with it."

"And Caitlin eventually snapped it in half." Phil laughed.

You spent the evening looking at pictures, unaware of the events that were about to occur.
