Dil knocked on the door, with a blue-frosted chocolate cupcake behind his back. It was Caitlin's favorite.

The door slowly opened so there was a tiny crack.

"Who is it?"

"Dil!"

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?"

"I wanted to see Caitlin, Mr. Howell." He admitted.

"She hasn't been here since yesterday." He said with a slightly annoyed tone.

"Really?" Dil raised an eyebrow. "That's....not like her at all."

"Besides, she's not supposed to be talking to you anyways."

"Well, I know but, um, I have something important to tell her."

Dan sighed and opened the door all the way. He looked absolutely exhausted.

"I guess you'll have to tell her when she comes back."

Dil widened his eyes.

"Have you been waiting for her all night?"

"Yes. She's worrying Y/N and I sick."

Dil was silent for a moment before clearing his throat.

"I'll help to find her. I promise." Dil said. Dan half-smiled at him.

"You're a good kid, Dil. Go back to school, okay?"

Dil nodded and started to walk away, when Dan stopped him.

"What did you want to tell her anyways?"

Dil blushed and looked at his feet.

"N-Nevermind. It doesn't matter right now. It can wait."

Dan, of course didn't believe him, but let him go anyway.

"Alright."

Dil smiled at him before turning on his heel and running back to the path to school.

"Dil? Do you know how much trouble I could be in for talking to you?" David asked Dil when he approached him at lunch time.

"Nevermind that! This is much more important than a stupid punishment!"

"Well, okay. What do you need?"

"We need to gather the others!"

"Are you crazy?!"

"Just. Do. It." He gave a death glare to him, and David immediately changed his mindset.

"Fine. I'll go get Brooke and Xavier."

"Nice. I shall find Elizabeth."

*****************

"...So. Think you can help?"

"Finally came to your senses?" Xavier teased.

"What do you mean?"

"She's had a crush on you since she was, like, 10." David shrugged.

"What?" He blushed a deep crimson.

"It was sooo obvious, mate." Brooke agreed.

"She has a boyfriend now." Elizabeth pointed out.

"Oh." Dil's face dropped 50 stories. "Well, we still need to find her."

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen her boyfriend around either." David inputted.

"Probably with her."

"So that's a clue."

Dil got a lot more quiet.

"Where could they have gone?"

"Elizabeth can get the dirt on anybody!"

"It's true. I can."

"So, go over there by his friends and find out more about him."

"Oh my gosh, fine. But you guys are coming with me."

Everyone left the table to follow Elizabeth, except Dil. He groaned and banged his head on the table.

"I am an idiot. Why didn't she say anything?"

"Whatcha doing, Dillin?" He heard a voice next to him. He saw Summer standing there with a fake look of symapthy on her face.

"Thinking about the one that got away. I'm such an idiot. She was beautiful, clever, tough, and always stood up for others. She was- no. Still is perfect."

"Aw, Dil, I forgive you." Summer hugged Dil. Dil pushed her away.

"You're quite pretty, but I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about....Caitlin."

Summer gasped.

"Rude!" She went back to ger group of friends.

She can't compare to my beautiful Caitlin. I was so stupid to date Summer instead of her. And now she's gone. Taken.

"Dil, bad news." Elizabeth frowned. "They don't have any information either."

"Just great."

"We'll find her. I promise." Brooke hugged him. "Lunch is almost over. We'll talk in the library after school."

Dil sighed, but agreed.

"Sure."
