Caitlin's knees wobbled as she tried her best to stand up once again, but she couldn't. She coughed as she fell to the ground.
She had no choice but to try again; she couldn't just sit there in the middle of the street where cars were coming by.
Whatever was in that coffee was NOT Creamer. She thought, scowling.
She coughed again and tried to stand up, only to fall again. She sighed as she felt a tear roll down her cheek, her breaths shaky. She didn't even notice the large car zooming down the road towards her.
The large car skid to a stop just a few feet away from Caitlin and honked the horn.
Caitlin looked up, and jumped.
A tall woman got out the car to see if Caitlin was alright.
"Miss? Is everything okay?" She asked in a panic.
Caitlin shook her head, more tears running down her face.
"Are you hurt?"
Caitlin nodded.
"I-I can't m-m-move!" She shouted in between sobs.
The woman gasped.
"We need to get you some medical attention! I'll call 911, stay calm."
Caitlin could only nod as she wiped the tears away from her face.
That jerk will pay. Caitlin thought bitterly. He made me cry. Me.

"I'm sorry, we don't have a Caitlin Howell here." The clerk informed Dil. Dil sighed and drummed his fingers on the desk.
"Thanks anyway." He mumbled, turning away from the desk. "She's not here either." He shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm watching the news. I'll be there in a minute." She told Dil.
Dil sighed and sat down next to her.
"Might as well check the weather." He shrugged.
"Shut up. It's starting."
"Our top story today, the missing teenage girl found in the middle of the road by a 30- year-old woman."
Dil raised an eyebrow.
"At about 11:40 today, Engineer Bianca West says she was driving to a meeting when she saw the missing girl sitting in the road, unable to move.
Brooke and Dil's eyes widened as they watched in shock.
"It was heartbreaking and terrifying." Bianca stated. "She just started breaking down, even after I tried to comfort her. She was totally vulenerable."
At this point, Dil was shaking his head with his hand over his mouth.
"Caitlin is still getting treatment in the hospital right now."
Brooke then sighed, and looked at Dil. Dil was frozen in place, with his lip quivering and his fists clenched.
"We should go." Brooke suggested, taking Dil's arm. Dil didn't resist, and just went along with her.
Once they were outside, Dil looked at Brooke, a tear in his eye.
"She's okay." Dil mumbled happily, a smile forming on his face. Brooke wrapped her arms around Dil in a hug, tears also running down her face.
They stood like that for who knows how long, strangers stopping and staring at them, but they didn't care.
They were finally going to be a non-blood-related family again.

"Brooke?" Dil looked at Brooke while they were walking down the hallway, to Caitlin's room.
"Yes?"
"Thank you for everything you did. You helped me in my time of need." He chuckled. "Your girlfriend is a lucky one."
Brooke nodded.
"Of course. Anything for my friends."
Then, they stopped in front of the door.
"Here we are."
"Yep."
"Are you ready?"
"No, but I'll go in anyways."
Brooke knocked on the door, and when she heard a faint "Come in!", she opened the door.
D/W/N and Dan were puffy-eyed and red-faced from the crying over their daughter.
"Mr and Mrs Howell!" Brooke's eyes widened.
Dan sniffed and wiped his eyes.
"Hello Brooke. Hello Dil."
"I am so sorry for you." Brooke stated apologetically.
While she was trying to cheer them up, Dil had his eyes fixed on Caitlin. She was unconscious, the heart monitor was still beeping, but she looked like she was dead.
She was a sickly pale white all over, she didn't look like she was breathing at all, and her limbs were very limp.
Dil looked back at her parents, and then back at her.
"I'm really sorry." He announced suddenly, and everyone looked at him. "She's my best friend, and I shouldn't have let her run away like that, or even get a boyfriend as shady as he was." Dil shoved his hands in his pockets. "This is all my fault."
There was a long moment of lingering silence before D/W/N spoke up.
"It's not your fault, Dil. Don't beat yourself up." She spoke softly and reassuringly. "You're a great kid."
"The only one to blame is that rotten, selfish, horrible boyfriend she had." Dan butted in.
Dil sighed, knowing they were right.
"We'll get back at him." Brooke said. "Everything will be back to normal soon. Everything will be just fine."
Yeah, Dil thought. Everything will go back to normal, the way it was.
...and CUT! That was beautiful, gorgeous even! I love it.
