January 15, 2020 8:10pm Jon stood next to Brooke watching the beginning of Dynamite, where Kenny Omega and "Hangman" Adam Page took on Santana and Ortiz, The Best Friends, and The Young Bucks. Brooke had just finished hair and makeup for her segment that night, seeing as she was accompanying Sammy for his match later against Jon.
Brooke was just excited to get some wrestling in, seeing as she was going to hurricanrana him outside the ring. It wasn't much, but Jon was going to give Brooklyn Jericho as much of a chance as he could to get her wrestling again.
To Brooke, he seemed like the only one. Even her father was beginning to question her mental state, seeing as the two had a come-to-Jesus moment last week before the Inner Circle's segment with Jon.
"So how are you and Kenny, anyways?" Jon bluntly asked, crossing his arms as they watched the wrestler.
"Tyson," she corrected her friend, though shook her head in disappointment. "And I don't know."
Jon looked down at the blonde. Of course, his wife had usually filled him in on anything that Brooke didn't, seeing as the two were best friends. He had known that the two had talked about WWE.
Jon was not a fan of the WWE, obviously, but he knew Renee had a different experience. He also knew that Brooke could flourish there if given the chance. But, there was always that one part of his mind that worried she'd face the same fate he had.
He had it all, and then one day, he didn't.
But, Jon was learning to listen to his wife. He hadn't considered before that the group had pressured Brooklyn into signing with the company. Perhaps it wasn't on purpose, but the pressure was there, regardless. Besides, while she was in AEW, she would receive comment after comment accusing her of getting her job because of her father. At least in WWE, Chris couldn't be there to baby her.
WWE was always the plan. And seeing how miserable Brooke had been with her AEW experience lately, maybe her second thoughts were warranted, after all.
Brooke continued, "I'm avoiding him."
For Jon, if he wanted something, he didn't avoid it. He chased after Renee and had no care in the world for how it looked. Brooke used to be like that, too. Why was it so different with Tyson?
Jon furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "I officially don't understand women."
Brooke laughed, nudging Jon's shoulder as he laughed alongside her. He was glad to see her smiling again.
"Jon, other than you, pretty much every person in my life would disapprove of me and Ty because of our age gap. And don't even get me started on the media. So what's the point of me trying? Because him and I can't go back to the way things were," Brooke sighed.
