Hotaru's Mini Adventures: Mother

Hotaruuuu's- mini adventures!

Hotaru:

I beat on his door loudly- why do boys take so long to wake up? "Get up! Get up! Get up!" I yell.

Finally, I hear him reply. "Seriously! What is with you?!" He opens the door, and my face instantly goes pink. He's shirtless.

He folds his arms. "Yeah?"

"You're um... indecent um..."

"I'm a boy; it's fine; you were the one banging on my door till I opened up, so what's going on?"

My face is heating up so fast, "Put on a shirt!"

"What, do you like what you see?" He says with a chuckle.

"A bit..."

"Give me a sec." He closes his door, and I sigh in relief.

"He's a kid to me, and even I gotta say..." says Ochaco, standing behind me.

"Shut up..." I say, trying so hard to fight the blush. He opens the door again - in a sleeveless tank top that's not as bad, but it's still enough to make me want to look away. "Your... your mom is awake."

His eyes go wide, then Henry slams the door in my face. I back up a few steps, then hear draws opening and slamming shut. "Give me a sec- we can go see her, right?"

"Your dad and my dad are arranging things now," I say, passing off the door slam. I'm happy to see my friend happy; that's what counts.

He comes back out in his whole school uniform and slams into me, hugging me tight. I turn beet red again. "Thanks so much! She's awake! She'll be okay!" He lets go. "I gotta get Tori!" And with that, he runs down the hall, straight past his father, who is also out there. (We're in the boys' area of the dorms, so he and Ochaco had to come. Something about propriety or something.)

"Ya know, he's not supposed to run off into the girls' area of the dorms by himself at this hour..." Ochaco says over my shoulder.

He is already out of the hall and probably in the girls' area. "Well..." I say, "You can try to catch him if you like." I bite my lip. "Kinda wager he'll already be back in the between section by the time you catch up."

Hizashi just sighs, looking like he doesn't care much as Ochaco and I follow him out of the boys' section. "Well, to be fair, I kinda expected him to do that. Just don't tattle on him, okay? It's not like the girls run around naked in the hall anyway." He puts his hands in his pockets as we go, and I smile up at him. "So, how have things been going for you with your studies? I imagine your injuries made you have to take some you time."

"A little bit, sure. Tori has been tracking how many painkillers I take so I don't overdo it." I grunt. "It kinda hurts to talk right now."

"You could just not..."

"As if," Ochaco says.

I fold my arms and huff at her.

"It looks fine, you're fine, you're kinda cute like that really- we need to get going- she's freaking awake!" I hear Henry yell. He pulls his sister to the center, between the two halls, not long after Uncle Hizashi and I arrive. I look at my best friend and grin.

Tori is currently dressed in her pink pajamas and is trying to pry herself out of her big brother's grip. I mean, she IS kinda cute like that; I gotta admit, it's just... I don't think she wants to go to a public hospital in her pajamas.

"Aizawa is downstairs?" Henry asks. "Right! We'll meet you two down there!" He pulls Tori along through the stair door, and- down they go.

I just hear Tori say. "Wait, we're HAPPY to talk to that guy now?" as they go.
