Tsukishima stared at his phone, looking through the pictures he had of himself and Rin. He saw the way Rin smiled in all of them. He doesn’t normally smile in pictures in general, but he could tell that in some of the photos, his small smile felt forced. Internally, he was having a huge battle between continuing his relationship with Rin, which had no backbone to it since the memories of him falling in love with her were lost, or telling Rin that they should separate and start off as friends, which would either allow them to grow and eventually fall back in love, or truly end up separating.

This sucks,’ he told himself, rolling his eyes at his own mental war.

He exited his gallery and opened Instagram. He saw that Yamaguchi had just posted a picture of him and (F/n). (F/n) was smiling while Yamaguchi was looking at her. It was obvious that the two were in love, but there was something in the way of them actually getting together: fear.

Hopefully Tadashi does something soon,’ Tsukishima thought to himself, ‘It would be a shame if they went on just as friends.’

He went to his profile and saw the last picture that he posted, which was of him and Rin. He sighed before closing the app and opening his messages. He clicked on him and Rin’s conversation, staring at the keyboard, which popped up. He drafted a simple message before turning his phone off, forcing himself to sleep.

Go to the rooftop during lunch tomorrow. Let’s talk.”

The bell rings, signalling that it is now lunchtime. Rin, pushing past her anxieties that stemmed from Tsukishima’s text, went straight to the rooftop. She saw that Tsukishima was already there, leaning against the wall that acted like the railing. She looked around and was thankful that they were the only two that were up there, as it would’ve been extremely awkward if there were bystanders listening to their conversation.

“Hey,” Tsukishima greeted her.

“Hi,” Rin nodded, “How have you been?”

Tsukishima shrugged, “Okay,” he gestured for her to stand in the spot next to him, “You?”
