STEFAN

"Shit, I'm going to be late!" Was the first thing I thought when I looked at the clock and saw that it was 9 am. I rushed out of bed and ran into the bathroom. My hair was scrunched up into the middle and underneath my forest green eyes, there were dark circles showing the lack of sleep I had experienced. My head was aching like never before.

God! I hate Hangovers.

I dressed up in my normal suit and styled up my hair. I rushed down the stairs hoping that I wasn't gonna get fired today.

"Hello Brother." Spoke the man with dark hair and sapphire orbs.

"Damon, I can't speak, I'm meeting a client in 10."

"Well I see you are late." My brother smirked.

"Yes I am." I quickly pulled on my shoes. "Remind me never to listen to you again. Especially when it comes to drinking on a weekday." It was true. If he had never taken me to the Grill yesterday night, I wouldn't have drank too much and ended up like this.

"Oh Stefan. When will you learn to let loose and have fun? Move on from her." Ughhhhh! He had to didn't he? Why did he have to be a pain in the ass? But I guess this is my brother. Damon Salvatore: Mystic Falls' most alleged bachelor.

"Did you really have to mention her?"

"See? You get annoyed as soon as I say anything about it. It's been five years and you're still a broody old lawyer moaning on about the love of your life." What? That's not true. I have moved on and I am not old. I mean I would rather be a broody old lawyer than a guy who owns the Mystic Grill with his best friend and then ends up in bed with random girls.

"One, I'm not old. And two, I'm not in the mood for this." And with that, I walked out of the door.

"As you wish brother." Damon called after me.

As I walked outside, the cold Autumn breeze hit my face. October was coming to an end but it felt like the end of December. But then again, Of course it did. This is Mystic Falls. From the weather to the people, everything was confusing. In the three years living here, I, and even Damon, had got so attached to this place that we couldn't quite imagine a life without it, even if it was confusing.

I quickly got into my red 1963 Porsche and checked the time. Did Damon have to waste so much of my time? How do I reach the office in five minutes? But I drove as fast as possible.

My office was just outside town. I had been working there for five years but one day, I wished to open my own law firm.

ELENA

"Elena! Welcome home!" Bonnie Bennett ran straight into my arms. "I swear, if I had to live without you for a day longer, I would have demolished Whitmore."

"Woah Bon. You're a journalist, not builder. But I missed you and Caroline and even-" I paused in my words feeling a tear trickle down my cheek. It was true though, I missed all three of them so so much. Even though Bonnie kind of hated the third person I was about to mention.

"Aww, Dr. Elena, I miss them too." We smiled and hugged once again.

"But on the bright side, Caroline is returning home next Saturday!"

I realeased Bonnie. "SHE'S WHAT? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME? I just talked to her yesterday and she didn't say anything." It was true, I talked to her every day but she had never said anything about coming home. Why would she tell Bonnie, but not me?

"She wanted it to be a surprise. But I guess I kinda ruined that." Jo the very Caroline thing to do.

"She said that Katherine misses Mystic Falls." Bonnie reluctantly said her name. Katherine was the third person.
