You were a Soldier. A normal girl. Steve liked that about you. He liked it so much he eventually got the courage to ask you out. It took him 2 years to admit it because your brother was Clint and he was always a little overprotective. OK he was WAY overprotective. He didn't even want you to be in the Army because he was scared that two soldiers will knock on his door and deliver the news of your death. Steve was in the work out room beating the punching bag to death. He couldn't focus as much as he wanted to. He knew you were coming home in a month and he wanted to make it special for when you came back.
Clint walks on the room and watched as Steve didn't reply focus and how he wouldn't put full force on the bag like normal. "Can't focus?" He said folding his arms. Steve jerked his head in Clint's direction a and nodded a 'no' to him. "I'm just thinking about what I'm going to do to kill time quickly this month." Steve said. "Me to." Clint said. Clint missed his sister so much. The two would be extremely lucky if they so much as got a Skype call or a phone call from you. You've been gone for a year so far and it hasn't been easy for the two.
"I'm still angry at the Army." Clint said gritting his teeth. "Why?" Steve asked. "Remember? A year ago (Y/n) was officially done with it for 2 months then she wasn't." He said. "Yeah. I miss her so much." Steve said. He started to punch the punching bag repeatedly until they heard J.A.R.V.I.S' voice. "Mr. Barton and Mr. Rogers there is someone at the door for you two. They looked at each other and shared a confused look. They walked to the door and when they open it they saw a pair of men. Their hearts drop. "Are you Mr.Rogers and Mr. Barton?" One of the men said. They nodded. "We are sad to say that (Y/n) Barton was shot in the chest and died. She saved a fellow soldier by pushing him out of the way. We are very sorry for your loss." They said patting both men's shoulder.
They nodded and shut the door. They went to break the news to everyone and both of them tried not to shed a tear. Steve and Clint let a few slip. When they broke the news Natasha ,(Y/n)s closest friends, didn't want to believe it. Everyone stayed in the room and Steve left. They all heard a loud scream and knew Steve wasn't taking the news so well. "WHY!?" He yelled out causing all the Avengers to cry uncontrollably.
The next day
Steve was still awake. He never closed his eyes, even for for five minutes he wouldn't. No matter how much he cried he somehow managed to produce more tears. He heard a knock at his door. He stayed quiet and sniffles and cried silently. The door opened and Bruce walked in. "Hey Steve. Fury needs us." He said trying to get Steve up. Steve nods 'no' and shoos Bruce away. A few minutes later Fury walks in. "Fury! Don't! He just lost her do you seriously think he will be up for it!?" Tony said. "Steve. Get up. I have a mission I'm assigning you o-" Fury was cut of my Steve's angry voice. "I'm not going on some stupid mission after I lost someone close to me! I don't care anymore! What's the point!?" He yelled. Steve turned into a ticking timebomb. Nobody knew when he would explode.
"Steve!" Fury shouted. "JUST SHUT UP!" Steve yelled pushing Fury out of his room and shutting his door. The team outside the door were shocked that Steve would have an outburst like that. Clint was the same but everyone expected him to be like that, but Steve? Nobody expected Steve would be so aggressive. So later on in the week Steve would drink, and drink. He would be in the gym more often and beat the crap out of every punching bag, or he would be in his room crying himself to sleep. What he did later that month shocked everyone. He... Killed himself. He left a note saying,"I couldn't handle it anymore. I missed her too much. Please forgive me." Now the team had two things to cry over. Two people they cared deeply about died in one month.
Steve quickly jolted up when he felt a shake on his body. "Steve are you OK!? You were crying in your sleep!" Nat said. "Yeah I'm OK." He said. He looks at the empty space in his shared bed. "I don't know how you had such a bad dream when (Y/n) is coming home today!" She said. He quickly springs out of bed and checks the time. 8:43. He gets dressed when Nat leaves the room. He runs into the living room and waits for that knock. He hears a knock and Tony got out a camera. Steve opens the door and there stood (Y/n) with her bag over her shoulder in her uniform. She grabs Steve and pulled him into a bone crushing hug. Him and her let out a small sob. Steve pulled away and kissed her. "I missed you! Please don't ever leave me again!" He said. Clint ran to his sister and hugs her. Soon everyone hugs her in a group hug and Tony turns off the camera. "I swear you are not leaving this place for as long as you live." Clint said. "If they ask you to come back withe to months please say no this time!" Steve said giving (Y/n) puppy eyes. "Oh trust me I will. It gets a little boring without you crazy people around. Besides I have to make sure I keep you all in line." (Y/n) said.
