Those Three Words

Day 2.2

Krystal dragged Mika to the makeshift shelter (made from coconut leaves) she just made awhile ago.

Krystal: Make yourself at home!

Mika: It's kinda cozy here.

Krystal: We won't starve until we run out of coconut. *sabay abot ng buko* Just scrape the meat out of it with this.

Mika: Thank you.

Krystal: What are friends for?

Mika: That girl over there. 

Krystal: The one who claims to be your friend. What about her?

Mika: How did you two met? I mean, what happened? Why are we here?

Krystal: Now you're ready. Wait. Are you?

Mika: Yes.

Krystal: We were supposed to go back to Korea via plane. Her team, women's volleyball team, was supposed to go to Korea for a tour. She said so. They go to different countries every year. Our plane crashed. Boom! I woke up in darkness, in this shore. She's just a few meters away. We decided to look for other survivors who could be doing the same thing. And then we found you.

Mika:  Were you really my friend? 

Krystal:  You are breaking my heart.

Mika: Because I can't really remember any korean word. Wait. I know "Annyong!" but that's really common. 

Krystal: That's because we never spoke Korean to each other.

Mika: You have a point but I feel like I've known Ara for a long time.

Krystal: You can't always trust your feelings, you know? You have a messed up brain right now and feelings are managed and located somewhere in our brain. The hypotalamus or whatever they call it.

Mika: Ang dami mong alam noh?

Krystal: What?

Mika: Nevermind.

Krystal: Beware of that girl, Mika. I'm telling you.

Mika: You're scaring me.

Krystal: She just lost all her teammates.

Mika: Oh my god. Shouldn't we comfort her? Ba't ganun? Nalungkot ako bigla.

Krystal: She's a psycho, Mika. Don't you get it?

Mika: A psycho?

Krystal: She just lost some of the people who are very special to her. And when that happens to people, they try hard not to think about it. They deny it. And Ara, she can't accept that. So she's assuming that you are one of her friends who died there. 

Mika: This is creeping me out, Krys.

Krystal: I know. It creeps me out, too. That is why I'm taking you away from her as much as possible.

Mika: But all those things she said about me, where did those came from? She said my name is Mika Aereen Reyes and ...

Krystal: I told her about you while you were sleeping. I told her your name, about your family. I didn't know what she's planning. I was just shocked when she hugged you. The nerve!
