One day, Mufasa asked Taka if he wanted to go to the river with him and the girls. Taka agreed to go, to Mufasa's surprise, and they were off.

Mufasa and the girls splashed around in the cool water, but Taka stayed back. He stared sinisterly at the three cheerful lions. He had a plan. A plan to get rid of Mufasa once and for all. After he was gone, his father would have no choice but to make him the next king. Finally, he would b loved again.

Mufasa and the girls laughed and played and tackled each other in the water. Mufasa shouted to his brother. "C'mon, Taka! Come play with us!" Taka smiled deviously. "I have a better idea." Said Taka. "But I need Mufasa to come to the top of that rock with me." Mufasa and the girls exchanged glances. "What for?" Asked Sarabi. Taka and Mufasa walked toward the rock. "You'll see. I have a game in mind."

They walked toward a huge rock that hung over the river. It was about thirty five feet tall. When Taka and Mufasa were young, their parents told them never to jump off of that rock, as the water was too shallow for diving. Taka motioned for the three to stop at the base of the rock. "I only want me and Mufasa to go up. I thought we could have, a little.......diving contest."

Mufasa and the girls were silent. "But, Taka...." Said Mufasa meekly, "the water's to shallow to dive." Taka giggled. "You aren't scared, are you?" Mufasa lowered his eyebrows. He growled. "No! I'm a born king! I'm not scared of anything." Taka smiled. "Then, go." He said coolly.

The two climbed to the top. Mufasa stood at the edge. Mufasa wasn't all that great with heights. "Ummm......Taka, I..." But he didn't get to finish. At that moment, Taka ran at Mufasa. He rammed him so hard, Mufasa fell off the edge. He grabbed at the edge with his claws. Mufasa looked up in horror to see his brother standing over him.

"Well, well, well....." Taka said slowly and menacingly. "Look at the future king now!" Mufasa was terrified. "You! I knew you couldn't be trusted!" Taka stared for a moment, then dug his claws into Mufasa's paws. "See if you live to see your precious Pridelands, now." He snickered. He was just about to let go when they heard a roar. Ahadi's roar.

Ahadi raced to the top of the rock. Taka let go, and backed up. Ahadi grabbed Mufasa by the scruff of his neck, and pulled him up. The two stood there, ears flattened, and heads down. Ahadi ran to Mufasa's side. "My son! Are you all right?!" He noticed the claw marks on his paws. Mufasa was still in shock. Sarabi and Sarafina stood over Mufasa, Sarabi licking his wounds.

Ahadi turned to Taka. He had a furious look on his face. "Sarabi told me what happened." Taka backed up. Ahadi growled. "You come with me. Girls, take Mufasa home, please." The girls and Mufasa headed for Pride Rock. The other two walked to a cave in the back side of Pride Rock.

Ahadi roared. "I can't believe you! You tried to kill your own brother!!" Taka was cowering in a corner. "WHY?!?" Roared Ahadi. Taka stayed silent, too scared to speak. Ahadi growled. "You know he has to be king some day! And you can't kill a king!! You are evil! Despicable! Unacceptable! Disgusting!" Taka started to cry. "You want the truth!? I wanted to be king! Ever since you named Mufasa heir to the throne, I've been invisible! You treat me like dirt! Maybe YOU'RE the despicable one!"

Ahadi roared. "That's it! I'm done with you! I'm going to get through to you, you selfish, rotten....whatever! And if this is the only way, so be it!" Ahadi then pounced on the now sobbing Taka. He drew his claws, raised his paw, and swiped.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Taka screamed in pain. Ahadi stepped back, breathing heavily. Taka looked in a puddle of water on the ground. Across his left eye was a long, red scar. There was still blood running from it. Uru and Mufasa rushed in to see what all the commotion was about. They saw Taka, lying on the ground in tears, then looked at Ahadi. Uru roared. "What have you done?!" She screamed at Ahadi. Ahadi lowered his head. "It was the only way." He said silently. Uru snarled. "Mufasa, take your brother outside, and summon Rafiki."

Mufasa helped his brother outside. "Taka....." He said gently. Taka cut him off. "I'm not Taka anymore........"

"Call me Scar."
