Percy's POV
"Alright class, this lesson we will be practicing free-style, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly so we can improve before the swimming carnival." Said Mr. Simpson, our swim teacher at Goode.
It was my first swimming class since the giant war and, for one, I was actually afraid to get into the pool because getting into the pool meant that I would have to take my shirt off...I walked to the edge of the pool and was about to jump in when Mr. Simpson said "Percy, you are not swimming in your shirt. Take it off."
"Yeah Percy, Take your shirt off." Giggled Samantha and she batted her eyelashes. She was the popular girl at school and she was wearing the tiniest bikini I had ever seen. She was supposed to wear the Goode swim uniform, but somehow, she always got away with it.
"Samantha! That was not necessary, thank you." Mr. Simpson snapped.
I slowly slipped my arms under my shirt and lifted it over my head.
I could feed everyone's eyes burning into me.
It was silent.Scratches, bruises, cuts, gashes, scrapes... And the scar... The wounds never ended.
My back was the worst.
Three parallel lines made their way diagonally across my back - a claw mark, one of the many injuries I had gathered from monsters in Tartarus.I avoided everyone's gaze. I could feel a flashback coming on - that sense of dread and when my body starts to tremble.
I do a pin-drop into the water and sink to the bottom.I block out all of the sound. All of the visuals.
I block out the world.
