Family Dinner

It's easy to say that Annabeths family didn't really like Percy that much.

It was Percy and Annabeths 3 year anniversary and they decided to take both of their families out to dinner. It would be a great way to get the two households to bond.

So, it was 6:30 pm and everyone sat at round the table glaring at others. Percy and Annabeth had also decided to invite Athena and Poseidon to the dinner - the two sat in opposite ends of the table and stared at each other annoyingly.

A while into the night, Percy and Annabeth brought up the subject that was the cause for this dinner.

"Uh, soooo...." Percy said nervously.

"Um, we need to ask you something." Annabeth started, gesturing to both families. "So, it's our 3 year anniversary today and we thought that now would be a good time to ask if... If we can move in together? Like, rent our own apartment and-"

"No." Frederick says bluntly.

"But Dad,-"

"No! You are only 19, Annabeth, I don't trust you and this, this trouble maker to be-"

"Percy is not a trouble maker! He is the sweetest and most caring guy I've ever met, dad! You hardly even know what he's like! This is the first time you have actually sat down and made conversation with him. Do you remember when I was captured by Atlas, dad? Percy wasn't even supposed to go on that quest but he did because he cared about me! And two years ago, when I fell in to Tartarus? Percy came down with me because he wanted to protect me. He had a choice, dad. And, without him, I'd probably be dead. So I really don't understand what you have against him." Annabeth said angrily.

"Mr. Chase." Sally began. "I'm sure you could try to see things the way your daughter does, couldn't you? I'm happy for Percy and Annabeth to live together. I know them both very much and they are very cautious. They defend themselves from monsters, for gods' sake! Annabeth is very good with my son. She brings out the best in him and I think he's even gotten smarter being with Annabeth and that says a lot."

This whole time, Percy just sat there awkwardly, staring at his food.

"Look, Mr. Chase, I know you don't exactly love the thought of your daughter dating but she needs to be able to make her own decisions someday. Besides, I love her..." Percy says quietly.
