"Seriously?" I rolled my eyes at the ridiculous words coming out of his mouth.
"Of course, I wouldn't say something like that and not be serious," he stated looking at me with a firm expression.
"We've been officially dating for a little over a month and I've barely known you for six, but you want to move in together?" I questioned with disbelief as I shuffled around the kitchen trying to avoid eye contact.
I was not ready for what he had just sprung on me and it was making me very awkward.
"Maybe so, but we spend almost every second together when I don't have family things," he stood up from the chair he was in and made his way to help at the stove.
"And that is a perfect example of why we shouldn't. I still don't know that much about you. Like where you run off to all the time," I tried to reason and slightly change the subject.
He knew very much about me, but I knew only the basics about him.
"I'm an open book, there's not much else to know," he answered with hesitation.
There was something he was keeping from me because he avoided this question every time I brought up knowing things about him. Olivia avoided it too.
"I'm not moving in with a guy who's keeping secrets," I said, slamming down the empty mixing bowl.
He turned to look at me and threw his hands up, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, no one said anything about secrets. What am I supposedly keeping from you?"
I narrowed my eyes, getting more annoyed by the minute, "Do you think if I knew the answer that we would be having this conversation? We both know you're hiding things, Chase. I don't like being lied to."
He didn't say anything, he just continued to stare at me so I groaned, ripped off the cheesy apron Olivia had bought for me, and headed for the door.
"Where the hell are you going? This is your house!" he yelled, following me and I clenched my fists.
"I don't know yet, but when I do you'll be the last one to know!" I yelled back as I slammed the car door and quickly turned the key.
All I wanted right now was to get away from him.
Oh, and to kiss his stupid perfect lips, which only infuriated me more.
...
I sighed as I reached over and switched off my phone. I had been gone for almost three hours. Olivia and Chase had not stopped calling. I hadn't answered Olivia because I knew it was Chase. Liv knew not to call for a certain amount of time, she knew I needed my space when I was angry.
I wondered what secret it was he was keeping.
Was it a big one? Was he with somebody else?
No, no, it couldn't be that, he was with me every day almost.
I knew it was something, he got this guilty look on his face every time I tried to talk to him about it. He knew everything about me, literally. Was it too much to ask for the same from him?
I wondered why he wouldn't tell me, he should have known anything he told me wasn't going to change the way I thought of him.
Wait.
