Wow, it's hard to believe we're at chapter 25, and that I started this four and a half years ago 😂 Thanks for your continued reading and support! I have almost reached where I stopped writing to go back and rewrite the book so my updates will get a little less frequent as I'll be back into actually writing and not just editing/rewriting, which I'm excited for! Thank you to those who have been here from the beginning and those who are just now starting to read.

Anyway, happy reading!

"Chase, stop!" I yelled through giggles as he threw me onto the bed in his room.

It had been three weeks since our engagement and we were enjoying any moments we had to ourselves, as it had become scarce lately. We knew Josh and the other hunters were planning something so everyone was on guard. Chase was spending long hours with his father and councilmen to prepare for what was to come.

"I can't enjoy time with my wife?" he teased as he held his weight from above me.

I rolled my eyes and tried to get out from under him as I replied, "Future wife. You seem to keep forgetting that."

He shrugged and rolled to the side of me, propping his head up on his arm with a smile, "Yeah whatever, you're still my soul mate either way."

I smiled back at him and gave him a quick peck before replying, "Yeah, yeah, I'm all yours."

"Hey, I like the sound of that," he said smugly as he pulled me on top of him, "Say it again."

I let out a laugh and shook my head. I leaned down to kiss him, but before our lips met a knock sounded on the door.

Chase let out a low growl and I placed my forehead on his.

"It's okay, once all of this is over we will have more time and our own privacy. Now go see what's wrong, Mr. Alpha. I'm supposed to go shopping and have lunch with Olivia today," I said before I got up and stood next to the bed.

"You're what," he was interrupted by another knock on the door, "Just. Don't move."

I did as he said as he walked to the door and swung it open angrily.

"Your wall was up, so no one could get in touch with you. Bates sent me to get you," a voice said from the hallway.

Chase was blocking them so they couldn't see me as I was still in what I had slept in, which consisted of his t-shirt and a pair of shorts.

Chase closed the door before walking back to me, rubbing his hand across his face before asking, "Where are you two going shopping?"

I smiled lightly at him and hung my arms loosely around his neck, "To a few boutiques just inside the human territory, and we're taking Tom with us so don't freak out."

He sighed and nodded before placing his hand on my cheek, "Okay, just be careful. I don't know what I would do if I lost you."

I kissed him before giggling, "Starve, never have clothes, never have someone who's as good at-"

He covered my mouth and rolled his eyes, "Okay, I get it. I love you, just be aware of your surroundings."

I uncovered my mouth and held his hand in mine, "I love you too. I will."

I gave him a quick peck before moving to the dresser to get dressed. Before I changed I turned to him and gave him a smirk as I said, "Who knows, I may just come back with something for you."
