Despite appearances, Lyn had never liked being alone. Well, she liked being alone when it didn't mean being alone. Sometimes being around people was overwhelming, but at the same time, loneliness was a silent killer. That was why she longed for the company of animals. She took great comfort in the way that a pet would love you without judgment.

Lyn had always wanted a dog to curl up with on rainy nights and to play with when she was bored. Her parents, despite her and her siblings' pleading efforts, never gave into their wishes. Even without a dog of her own, Lyn had found ways to spend time with some furry friends. Besides the dog walking business she had made as a tween, she also dog sat and volunteered at shelters. Somehow, she even managed to interact with a dog on her road trip from hell.

"Who's a good boy?" She asked in a baby voice, scratching behind the dog's ears, a sensation which soothed her headache. "You're a good boy; yes you are," The dog proceeded to lick her face with a classic golden retriever smile. Lyn smiled at the dog again.

She knew that she should really be in a worse mood considering the screams coming from the house. Even so, she had learned, in the past three months, that her life was a total shit show now so she had to take the good moments where she could find them.

After what felt like an eternity, but was probably less then ten minutes, the screaming stopped and Klaus and Stefan approached the car. Klaus was smirking and Stefan was covered in blood so it was nice to know that nothing had changed.

"What is this?" Stefan asked, sounding thoroughly confused and done with the world. Lyn figured that she'd be done with the world too if she was a killer at Klaus's beck and call.

"Rudy!" Lyn said. That was the name she had heard the woman call out when she was looking for the dog. She turned to Klaus. That was something else she needed to change. She had hated Klaus so much in the beginning, spitting in his face and cussing him out whenever she got the chance. Everytime a stab of dagger pain passed through her chest or she had thought about Jenna, she got the urge to stake him. But then, he started taking her out to eat whilst Stefan was off doing the dirty work and rented whatever movies she requested when she was bored. He treated her like he cared about her and despite it weirding her out, it made her warm up to him a bit. "Can we keep him?"

Klaus looked at her like she had sprouted another head. "No!"

"Come on, you just killed his family, it's the least you could do," Lyn insisted and she heard Stefan chuckle a little in the background. Stefan and Lyn had somehow grown closer than ever before over the past few months. He had always stayed in the same hotel room as her, waking her up from her nightmares and making her hot cocoa. In turn, she had talked to him in the peak of his guilt, about anything and everything that could take his mind off of it and had helped him cling to what little he had left.

"If you are so insistent, we'll drop him off at a shelter, but we are not keeping the bloody dog!" Kalus insisted. Lyn eyed him for a moment, considering if this battle was worth fighting.
