Chapter 9 Nichole
I woke up in my blue room. I stretched and took a shower. I really hate school. I got ready and headed downstairs since I was running late. When I got to the kitchen I froze. Instead of mom making me breakfast, my dad was sitting at the table reading a book. He looked up at me and shook his head in disapproval. “You’re not wearing that.” I looked down at my peach shorts and beige tank top. I rolled my eyes.
“Where’s mom?” he shut the book and stood up.
“She had important things to do. Do you need a ride to school?” I shook my head.
“No. I’ll call someone.” His eyes hardened when I turned around and headed towards the door.
“You’re not allowed to be with Louis. Don’t make me tell you again.” I stopped and bit my lip.
“Dad, have you ever taken the time to talk to Louis?” I asked still facing the door.
“No, but I don’t need too.”
“When you do, then you can tell me if I can or can not see him. Mkay?” I opened the door and walked out. I called Louis and asked him to come and get me. When he pulled up my dad walked out the door. He looked at the car and back at me.
“Not changing and hanging out with Louis? Wow Nichole.” I rolled my eyes and Louis rolled down his window and stuck his head out.
“I think you look stunning!” he yelled. My dad glared at him and I contained a laugh. I turned back around and faced my dad.
“I won’t be home tonight either, so make sure you tell mom that.” He raised his eyebrows.
“Where are you staying?” I sighed.
“If it were your business, I would’ve told you.” I smiled before sliding into the passenger seat of Louis’ car.
“Hey love.” He leaned over and kissed me. My dad’s jaw dropped and then his face filled with anger. I smiled and we pulled out of the driveway. “You know people are going to look at us funny.” He stated once we got to school. I rolled my eyes.
“I haven’t cared about what people thought since the very first day I arrived.” I gave him a pointed look. “But if you can’t handle it, then we’re going to have a problem.” He laughed and shook his head before opening my door for me.
“Ha ha. Very funny.” He wrapped his arm around my waist and kicked the door closed. “Why do you look so nervous?” he smiled.
“I’m not nervous Lou.” He rolled his eyes and I pushed him away from me. “I’m mad at you.” I stuck my tongue out at him which made him raise his eyebrows. He wrapped his arms around my knees and placed me over his shoulders. By now we had caused a huge scene, but I didn’t care. “Lou! Put me down jerk!” I hit his back with my clenched fist.
“Not with that attitude.” I sighed and went limp.
“I’ll kiss you?” I mumbled and Louis’ head shot up.
“What was that?” You could tell he was smiling.
“I said I’ll kiss you god damn it!” I yelled and he dropped me.
“You’re so demanding.” He pulled me close to him and softly placed his lips on mine. He traced my bottom lip asking for entrance that I granted. His hands rested on my lower back and mine hung loosely from his forearms. His very toned forearms.
“Whore!” An all too familiar voice sliced through the crowd. Louis stood in front of me and glared at him.
“Leave her alone Will.” His voice was pure venom and he had that same look on his face from the day when Will beat me. “I don’t want to hurt you again.” Will laughed. I pulled on Louis’ arm.
“Let’s just go to class.” I pushed him forward slightly. We were almost past him when Will grabbed my arm.
“He doesn’t really love you. He’s using you.” I was trying desperately to loosen his grip on my arm when Louis shoved him.
“Leave her alone.” He said through gritted teeth. Will smiled at me. Not the normal awe-that’s-nice smile, but the I-murdered-your-puppy smile. I shivered and Louis dragged me into the school. Bruises were starting to form on my wrist. I tried to hide them, but my sleeves weren’t long enough. “I’m going to kill him.” He started to walk towards the door again.
“Louis please.” He stopped and turned around to face me. “Just let it go.” He must’ve saw how scared I was because he took my hands and pulled me against him. He kissed me gently on the cheek.
“Break it up! No PDA!” you could hear Principal Morgan yelling down the hallway. We rested our foreheads against each others. “Louis!” he calmly looked up at Mrs. Morgan and smiled.
“Well hello! How’s the Wicked Witch of the West?” she narrowed her eyes. I bit my lip trying hard not to laugh.
“Watch it Tomlinson! Get to class you’re almost late.” She walked away, her heels clicking on the tile floors. Once she turned the corner we burst out laughing.
“Shall we?” Louis opened the door to Mr. Gray’s room.
Today’s going to be a good day.
