Chapter 14 Nichole

School went by fast. Everyone wanted to know what happened and why I looked so, and I quote, ‘broken’. I think they actually wanted to say ugly or ogre like, but with Louis standing beside me they wouldn’t dare. Once we got back to Louis’ I headed straight to the kitchen. “Louis! Get your ass in here and make me a sandwich!” he shuffled into the kitchen and leaned on the doorframe.

“Or what?” he wore his famous smirk once again. I raised my eyebrows and took a threatening step towards him.

“Or my casts.” I looked down at the bright red things that encased my arms. “Will become lethal weapons.”  I looked back up at him. His smirk wavered a bit, but he still refused to move. Well he is a player. Why would I scare him? Then it hit me. Good job brain! I mentally face palmed myself. Get it together Nic! Stop talking to yourself. “Well in a week I get this cast cut off.” I held up the cast on my right wrist. “And a certain boy I know hasn’t had any action since the first day of school.” I looked down at the floor and tapped my chin. “And I’ll probably need to strengthen it back up since I’m right-handed.” He practically flew to the fridge.

“So what do you want on your sandwich?” he asked casually. I smiled and shook my head.

“The usual.” He nodded and I held my arms out. He sighed before picking me up and placing me on the countertop. “Thanks for lying today.” Louis had told everyone that I fell down his two flights of stairs. I wonder how many times I could use that excuse. Louis doesn’t know why I won’t just tell people, and to be honest I have no idea.

“You’re welcome.” He looked down because he could never look me in the eye and lie. I lifted up his chin and kissed him softly.

“Now make me a sandwich.” He smiled before licking the tip of my nose. “Ew you freak! That’s gross!” he knows I can’t stand the smell of spit. Bastard! “You’re such an ass.” He laughed.

“I’m sorry. My ass is so huge it consumes my personality.” I shook my head.

            Only Louis.

“Louis get off!” He wouldn’t let me leave. I was going to stay at my house with Blaine and Ashli so we could catch up. “I’m not going to be alone!” He was drop dead serious, like ‘no joking’. Not your typical Louis.

“But I’m not going to be here just in case.” I rolled my eyes.

“You can’t stay Louis!” He hit the steering wheel.

“Why? Why can’t I?!” he rested his head in his hands.

“Why are you so upset?” he wouldn’t look me in the eye. “My dad’s still in a coma and the girls will be here. There’s nothing to worry about?” he looked up slowly, but he still avoided my eyes.

“Will talked to me today.” He reached into his pocket. “And then I found this note in my locker.” He flipped it over a couple times staring at it intently before hesitantly handing it to me. I took it just as slowly as he had held it out. My shaky hands unfolded it and I shut my eyes. Did I want to read it? Yes. Should I read it? No. Will it improve my mood? Probably not. Am I going to read it anyways? Hell yeah! I slowly opened my eyes and looked down at the sloppy handwriting. I swallowed the lump that was beginning to form in my throat.

‘With Daddy out of the way and Mommy in a different town it will make it easier to break her.

Don’t make me kill her only family. I could pull a plug or run a car off the road in a blink of an eye.’

A knot twisted in my stomach as I looked down at the last few sentences in shock. “How does he know this!?” Louis shook his head.

“The only time we talked about it was-”

“When we got ice cream.” My brain was searching for an explanation. “He was stalking me?” Louis shrugged.

“That’s the only possible answer.” I looked down at those few sentences.

‘We wouldn’t want her to turn out like Lana or Torri, would we?

Figure it out soon Tomlinson before it’s too late.

Why? If there’s a God out there why doesn’t he love me? Why do I have to deal with all the bad people? It can’t be fair! It’s my army of two against the world. Two is better than one. Well that’s true. Shut up! No one asked you! Why am I talking to myself again!? Louis looked at me. “You can stay.” He did a seated victory dance. “On the couch.” His smile dropped and I shrugged before walking into my house.

“You won’t even know I’m here.” Louis said while that stupid smirk was on his face again. Somehow I don’t believe that. “They love me anyway.” He said referring to Blaine and Ashli.

“Actually on the first day of school they warned me about you and your games.” He raised his eyebrows.

“Really now? I bet they didn’t know you would be the one who changed the player.” I smiled. Louis pulled me down on his lap and we landed awkwardly on the couch.

“I knew I could. How can anyone resist me?” He laughed.

“You’re so conceited.” I let my mouth hang open.

“Says you!” I hit his chest playfully. He pulled me close and pressed our lips together. His hand traced circles on my waist while I wrapped my arms around his neck. He bit my lip gently asking for entrance that I denied. But as stubborn as Louis was he wasn’t going to take no for an answer. He started tickling my side making my gasp and he took advantage. I could feel him smile into the kiss and that made me feel accomplished. Because as long as he was happy I was. The door bell rang interrupting our make-out session. “The girls are here!” I smiled down at Louis.

“Yay. I’m so happy.” He said sarcastically. He was upset that they had interrupted us and I was to a little bit, but this was suppose to be just a girls night so Louis could get over it.

“Love you babe.” I called over my shoulder as I walked towards the door.
