Chapter 19 Nichole

“You don’t know?” my voice was like a whisper and I was surprised that he heard it. “How do you not know?” I looked down at his face, but it still held no emotion. “Louis.” He sighed.

“I don’t know okay?!” He yelled at me. I just looked t him. This is why he’s been acting distant. He doesn’t want me anymore. I calmly climbed off the bed and he rolled his eyes. “Nic.” I shook my head.

“Just don’t. Don’t okay.” He sat up and sighed.

“You’re overreacting,” It pissed me off how he didn’t even care that I was leaving. I picked up my bag that has been sitting in the corner of his room for weeks. I blinked back my oncoming tears. “I have a lot of stuff going on now. It’s hard to think about what will change with us.” I turned around.

“Change? I don’t know Louis. I’m pretty sure the only way things would change between us is if we broke up and since you ‘don’t know’ I take it as that’s what you’re thinking about doing anyway.” I opened his door and walked out. I was halfway down the stairs when he emerged from his room. Lottie, Daisy, Jo, and Phoebe were all sitting on the couch and I hated knowing what they were about to witness.

“Where are you going Nic?” Lottie asked causing everyone to look at me. I put on a fake smile.

                “Home.”

“No where.” Louis and I said at the same time. I turned around and glared at him. Jo took one look at what was happening and started crying again. Lottie took the girls upstairs glaring at Louis the whole entire time. Once they were gone Jo came up and hugged me.

“I understand why you’re doing this, but please don’t be a stranger. These girls love you.” She kissed my cheek before joining the rest of them upstairs. It was harder to keep all the tears inside after that. I opened their front door and walked out.

                “Nic!” I shook my head.

“You’re not even trying! It’s not like our normal fights where you’re doing everything to keep me! You’re just waiting for me to leave!” He shook his head.

“I don’t know what else to do! I don’t want to go on the x factor and leave you back here to fend for yourself when I should be beside you.”

“So you decide to crush my heart and leave me broken and defenseless. Thanks for your generosity.” I continued to my car. “They warned me about you. The funny thing is it’s going to hurt you more than me. I changed you. You just made me stronger.” He just stood there. He didn’t move or speak. “So much for I love you. I gave you everything. I tore apart my whole life to make us work for you to knock it down in two seconds. Funny thing is it doesn’t hurt as much as I thought it would.” I got into my car and drove away. I looked back once and saw him on his knees in the drive way. That almost made me want to turn back. It almost broke me knowing he still felt something, but I didn’t. I pulled into my strangely familiar driveway. I haven’t been home in forever. There was a car in the driveway and a light on. Maybe mom came home. I unlocked the front door and walked in. “Mom I’m home!” No answer. I headed up to my room, but something felt strange. I walked back down the stairs and went to the kitchen. “Hello?” I heard something creak. I turned around, but nothing was there. Maybe I’m just being paranoid. I turned back around and came face to face with him. I froze. How did he get in?! A sick smile covered his face.

                “Miss me?”

Louis

I had to do it. I had to let her go. I had already auditioned and I already made it through. I couldn’t string her along. Fuck she wanted me to do it in the first place. I collapsed in the driveway watching her car drive away. I could still go after her and change everything. I couldn’t bring myself to get up. She was so calm about it. I tried to stay emotionless instead of hugging her and explaining it, but she acted like she was already over it. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up into Lottie’s eyes. “Go get here and make it right. You’re making a huge mistake and even you know it. C’mon I’m going with you to talk some sense into her. I nodded and drove to Nic’s. When we got there two cars were in the driveway. I turned the car off and heard a scream. Lottie covered her mouth and pointed towards the house. I looked around frantically until I came across her window. There were to shadows not one.

“Lottie stay here!” I jumped out of the car and ran to her door. I kicked it open and looked around.

“Leave Louis he’s got a-” before she could finish cool, sharp metal was pressed against my neck.

                Will.

“Knife. I’ve got a knife. Hello Louis nice of you to join us. I’ll let you watch me take something that’s yours. I’ll fuck her in front of you then I’ll kill her.” He laughed. “And then I’ll kill you.” He pushed me forward and into a room with an already beaten Nic.
