#42: Trees of Memories

16 3 2

Each trunk's a story,
Each branch a tale,
Each twig a whisper,
Each bud recalls.

Each tree remembers,
Each branch will tell,
Each twig has whispers,
For all to hear.

Each tree has memories,
Of ages past,
Each tree will stand on,
As days whirl past.

As trees surround us,
As tales they tell,
We hear their stories,
And hear them well.

The trees of memories,
Have stood so long,
They'll keep on standing,
To sing their song.

How can they remember?
How can they tell?
When will they falter?
When will they fail?

How many are there?
Are more to come?
Will we remember,
The songs they sung?

Where are the answers,
To questions asked,
How will the trees tell,
When we are past?

The trees will sing on,
Their voices old,
Till none remember,
The words they told.
