Truth Seeker: Chapter Seven:

As I headed down the dirt road that lead to Adrian's home, I felt an uneasiness creep over me. I gave the horse a little kick and she took off.

I hopped off the mare quickly, and followed the walkway up to the porch.

I walked up onto the porch and noticed that the door was cracked.

I slowly pushed the door open the rest of the way and found that the living room was destroyed.

"Adrian?!" I yelled as panic rose in my throat.

I took off through the house and went to my bedroom. Baby Jack wasn't in his little bed and Adrian wasn't in his room either.

Though I did see a small box lying at the foot of Adrian's bed.

The box had a letter on it, which was addressed to me, and inside the box, was a necklace.

The note said 'I hope you like this. I was going to wait until Christmas, but I couldn't.'

The letter and the necklace, were from Adrian.

I put the necklace on, and then went to search the rest of the house.

I sat straight up in my bed, breathing heavily, I didn't need to breathe of course, it was just a habit.

This is always the part where I wake up. I dream about what happened that day all the time. Although now, in 2011, I still don't know what's happened to Adrian and baby Jack. Well baby Jack most likely isn't a baby anymore. For all I know he could be dead. After all, it has been over 200 hundred years, or more since I have seen him or Adrian.

"Bad dreams again?" A familiar voice said from the doorway.

"Hey, Elizabeth. Did I wake you up?" I asked getting out of bed.

I stretched and winced as my necklace pulled my hair.

"So, have you remembered anything else?" Elizabeth asked not answering the question I had asked her.

"No. Are you absolutely positive that you can't use your powers to find them?" I asked this question everyday but it felt as if I wasn't trying if I didn't.

"Cecilia, we go through this every day. I can't find them. I don't have the slightest idea where they could be." Elizabeth said following me to the kitchen.

"Are we going to the club tonight?" I asked as I got a bottle of blood out of the fridge.

"Yea, I have to work. But if you want to go out or something before then, don't worry about being here to take me. I can take a cab or walk." Elizabeth said pulling her still long hair into a perfect bun without effort.

"Ok. I might go down to the Werewolves’ territory. Who knows, maybe they changed their minds about helping find who killed my family." I told her as I walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

"Don't you dare use all that hot water or you will feel my wrath!" Elizabeth yelled as I turned on the water.

About an hour later I was walking down the street towards the Werewolves’ territory. I have been here lots of times but you never knew what might happen.

It only took me a few minutes to get there. I was met by a Werewolf before I made it in the territory. "Oh it's you again. Why do you insist on coming down here every week, Vampire?" He said snarling at me.
