The First Letter: Chapter Ten:
I had made it home last night, but I had gotten no sleep. I was restless just from the fact that Adrian had been at the club, and had treated me like he had.
Elizabeth had came in last night in a sour mood, bringing Dominican, and Toni in with her.
I didn't watch the movie. I just sat and stared off into space.
I think Elizabeth was mad because I had danced with Dominican, but I had just wanted to get back at Adrian.
I would have to fix that when I felt alright, and like I could breathe again.
"Snap out of it, Cecilia! For God's sake, you've been sitting there like a zombie since yesterday!" I heard Elizabeth say.
"Leave her alone, Elizabeth. She doesn't need you yelling at her!" Toni defended me.
"Whatever! I think she needs to get out of the house! She hasn't even had any blood since yesterday morning. It can't be good for her!" Elizabeth said on a sigh.
"I'll take her outside, and talk to her." Toni said as he walked over to me.
He made me stand, and then he led me outside.
We sat down on the terrace bench, and he waited while I tried to gather my thoughts.
"I saw what happened last night. I don't know who that guy was, or why he did what he did, but I know you didn't deserve it!" Toni said as he grabbed my left hand and held it.
"I-I did something bad though." I whispered.
"No you didn't! Dancing with Dominican was just your way to let go of the pain. Elizabeth just needs to see that. It's not easy to lose someone you love, and then have them come back and treat you like that." Toni wrapped his arms around me, and that's when I began to cry.
I couldn't help it. I was heartbroken, and Toni was right.
Toni was a nice guy to be putting up with me like this. He rubbed my back as I sobbed and he said comforting things to me.
I heard the door slide open, and out stepped Elizabeth.
"Cecilia, I'm sorry about how I treated you." she said in a hushed voice.
I could only nod at her.
"Does it really hurt that bad?" she questioned as she sank down in front of the bench.
"Worse than it did when he first left me." I said softly.
"He didn't leave you this time, Cecilia." Elizabeth said quickly.
"He pulled away from me." I whispered on a sob.
Elizabeth looked at me with sympathy in her eyes, and she grabbed my other hand.
"I promise you, the pain will go away some day. You'll find another. she said looking like she wanted to cry herself.
"Elizabeth, I know you like Dominican, and I didn't mean to do that to you." I pulled away from Toni and hugged her.
"Its fine. I understand why you did it. I was just mad that he had made you come down to the dance floor." she shrugged.
"Well I'm pretty sure that if you were to let him know how you feel, things would be different." I said as I wiped the tears from under my eyes.
"But I don't know how to tell him!" she half yelled.
"Don't know how to tell who what?" Dominican said as he came through the door.
