Winter
My bones ached and creaked under pressure of what I do not know. Lykaos was asleep next to me, tossing and turning all night long. She would whimper every now and then, I had no clue what roamed in her dreams for her to be scared.
My senses have enhanced over the last few days we spent in the forest around us and I'm sure Lykaos feels the same. We haven't had any repeats of what happened with that lady, I can tell Lykaos is still shaken up about it, but I have to be strong for her.
I can sense something watching us from afar, I'm sure I can feel it linger on me a little to much. Something inside me always seems to spark up when it does.
I look down at Lykaos, her eyebrows scrunched up as the sunlight grazes her face. Her curly messy hair lights up like a dimmed out fire. Her hair consist of all sorts of colours, but mostly a brownish red and her eyes were a dark yellow.
We are very different, she looked like she belonged in the woods, a wildfire, as I consist of the dark shadow of the moon itself. My hair black, my eyes grey. We were opposites of course but we suited each other well enough and I couldn't live without her.
I quietly slip out of bed and tiptoe to the door leading outside, as soon as I'm out I stretched my limps and breathe in the fresh forest air. It always seem to smell better in the early daylights. I decide to go for a walk, I strolled past trees feelings one with the land. My long legs start to ache for a run, they stretch out as I obey and start jogging.
Something awoke in me, edging me to run faster and faster. I couldn't help but comply. It felt so good, my bare feet smashed on the most ground. Light but fast. I was racing through the trees, I was in my element.
A quick blur flew past me, it took me by surprise as my feet skidded to a abrupt stop, losing my footing and crashing down hard on the ground. My black hair was tangled with twigs and leaves. I got up quickly and look around furiously. What ever dared to disturb me better watch themselves! An inhumane growl bubbled in my throat as I yelled out, "You better show yourself now! I know you're out there."
I could smell them, I could feel their eyes on me. A few seconds passed and nothing happened. No one came out, no noise made but they were still there. I just started to turn back around and continue walking back to the cabin when I heard a slight rustle in the bushes next to me.
I don't know what came over me but next thing I know I'm diving head on into the bushes. I ended up crashed onto the ground again, I groaned out when I landed on my arm. I heard someone clear their throat making my eyes darted upwards to see a man crouching down in front of me gazing down intensely at me.
Weird instincts kicked in, I wasted no time tackling him onto the ground and landing on top of him with one hand holding him down by the throat and the other on his chest. Small tingles erupted where my skin met his.
"Who the fuck are you?" I spat out. Tightening my hold on him and making the tingles stronger, his bright blue eyes widened in shock before staring right into my own. I got distracted by them, they shone so bright like the ocean lived in there itself.
Next thing I know, he was the one on top and held me down with his face nuzzled in my neck, sniffing me. His dark brown hair, falling slightly on my face. I could feel his muscular body against mine. Tingles shot from everywhere. I was being consumed in his scent. I had never felt this way before and got too distracted by these new feelings I didn't realize that the mans teeth had enlarged into canines.
When I came back to reality and saw, it was too late. I screamed and thrashed around in pain as his teeth sank deeper into my neck. My head began to feel dizzy and my vision was suddenly becoming blurry when he pulled his teeth out.
My neck was throbbing in pain making tears streamed down my face. I didn't know who this man was or what he was. Whatever sudden boldness I had before was long gone and I felt vulnerable.
The man started murmuring calm words to me, his voice soft yet deep. It felt oddly calming to which I had no control over but to feel like that. His blurry figure got up and bent down to pick me up. I struggled to move, only when realizing I couldn't my mind started racing through terrible thoughts this man could do to me. As he was about to pick me up, a smaller blurred figure flew at him, successfully knocking him to the ground.
A familiar smell came to me, a smell I knew all to well. I would have cried out in happiness, if I could. But more tears fell down my face, this time with joy. Lykaos knelt down, "Winter are you okay? Can you move?" She asked hurriedly but with concern. I could only shake my head the slightest bit to her, indicating a no. Everything was become darker. A loud groan was heard, Lykaos whipped her head in that direction and swore, "Shit."
She looked back at me, her face in concentration. Most likely trying to solve a way out of here. A shadowed figure suddenly appeared behind her, my eyes widened in fear for my friend, my mouth opened but no sound came out.
She looked at me for a second before she was pushed aggressively to the ground. Her head slammed against the ground hard knocking her out cold.
My vision after a few seconds failed me, I could hear the soft chirps of birds surrounding us and even after a second they too started to fade away. My body was being lifted up and tingles sparked everywhere. I could no longer stay conscious as I fell in a deep sleep surrounded by a sea of warmth.

My eyes fluttered open when something hit my face, my eyes scanned what it was and there was Lykaos sprawled out across on the bed with her hand on my face. I let out a small chuckle before events of what happened struck me.
I bolted upwards and looked around, I came faced to our cabin. Nothing was different, everything seemed as if what happened hadn't happened. My hand grazed up to my neck and sure enough pained engulfed throughout my neck. I grimaced at the pain, wondering what on earth is it for and/or why he bit me.
But the thoughts of it started to dull down as I began to feel tired, I laid back down. Feeling safe where I was with Lykaos and fell back to sleep. With thoughts of the blue ocean flowing in my head.
