Winter
The wind blew softly, shadows appeared from the corner of my eyes. The musky smell of the small pack smothered me. But it smelt familiar in a way. Tall tree stretched long and wide around us. Lykaos laid unconscious in my arms, the smell of her wound burnt my nose. Her breath was quick and uneven, I needed to find help now. I looked around for an escape out of here.
The wolves were also laying down all in a circle around us. They just stared, some looked anxious. A small brown wolf whined out loud, pressing her body close to the ground, she tried to crawl close to us.
My lips pulled up in a snarl the closer she got, she growled softly but still crawled closer. Her muzzle was lined with grey fur, her brown eyes softened as she looked at Lykaos. Nose lifting up she started sniffing close to Lykaos's wound. Her eyes widened before she backed away quickly, she and the other wolves got up and half of them walked away.
The small brown wolf and four others stayed behind. Waiting patiently, while keeping an eye on Lykaos and I.
I could hear paws thundering on the ground in the distance, the hair on my back started to rise up the closer it got. I did not have a good feeling about this. My skin started to burn up, everything felt uncomfortable.
I didn't feel like myself, I wanted out of here now. My body started to feel suffocating and small. I had an urge for something I do not know.
I was getting impatient, Lykaos was hurt and I was doing nothing about it. I need to find help.
Out of nowhere my neck started to tingle and burn. I threw my hands up to my neck and screamed out in pain. The wolves looked bewildered at my sudden outburst.
I couldn't stop the snarls coming out, I was in pain but the sound of a twig snapping brought me back and I snapped my head up to where the sound came from.
Three wolves emerged from the trees, my eyes only kept on the large dark silver mixed with grey that was in the middle. The way he stood his self screamed he was the leader. His eyes focused on me as soon as he came from the trees. His striking bright ocean eyes seemed so familiar.
He kept his eyes on with my own as he stalked closer to us. Cautious and steady. Instincts told me to hold my ground and stare back, I felt power radiate throughout my body wanting to burst out but kept a firm grip on it.
He kept coming closer, and the mark on my neck started to tingle. He stretched his neck out and went to nose the mark.
My anger flared up, my hand gripped around his muzzle and pushed at him. "Back off!" I snarled. He looked shocked stumbling back a few steps before snarling back at me.
I laid Lykaos on the ground before crouching over her, I narrowed my eyes at the wolf. Something came over me, it felt like earlier today when chasing that rabbit with Lykaos.
The alpha wolf was quick to jump at me. Not hurting me but putting me in my place and knocking me away from Lykaos and pushing me to the ground. His heavy breath fanned my face, he kept his paws on my shoulders as he muzzled his snout into my shoulder trying to push my hair away from the mark.
Familiar feelings started to pulse through me, like with that guy before he bite me. I remember his scent flowing off him, the smell of the fresh forest and of like a waterfall dripping off him with a hint of mint.
It wasn't until the wolfs nose touched the mark that it came to me, that cold wet nose shot familiarity through me. He smelt just like that man only damper.
I gasped out loud, I could feel something happening to me. I could taste blood from my mouth, spilling down my throat. A unknown hunger for release only I didn't know what from.
My body was creaking and moaning from change.
Everything was aching and twisting, then everything just stopped.
