Lykaos

I was laying on something soft and warm. My eyes fluttered opened and I was met with a plain white room. I looked to my side and saw Winter sitting next to me with her head facing down as her arms were draped over and across my body. Her black hair falling down from the bed I was laying in and her arms were covered in bruises.

Dark brown, green, black bruises on her arms. I lifted my hand over to her but was stopped short when I tugged on handcuffs cuffed to the side of the bed. I shook my other hand and it rattled with the sounds handcuffs on them too.

"Winter, wake up." I called out to her, she silently groaned and nuzzles her face more into the sheets.

I jerk my body upwards making her jump awake, "Oh, you're awake!" I grin at her while her grey eyes glared down at me.

"It seems so that I am, are you okay?" She questions hesitantly, eyes at my shoulder. I lift both my arms up revealing the handcuffed hands, "I'd be better if I didn't have these on." I tell her annoyed.

She shoves a hand in her pockets and pulls out a small key and unlocks them. I rub my wrists gently and sit up, "Where are we and why was I handcuffed?"

"We are at a hospital and if you remember that you got shot, the doctors had to attend to it but you started clawing at everyone coming near you and growling at every movement and that," She points over to the handcuffs now dangling down over the side of the bed, "Was the only way the doctors could help you without getting injured themselves."

I look over slightly to see my shoulder and found it bundled up in bandages, I lean my head back and put my good arm over my forehead, "Tell me Winter, am I going to survive?" I ask her dramatically.

She gave a hard laugh before answering me, "You will live on but unfortunately your arm is going to have to be amputated."

I jump up, "What?!" Her head falls back as her laughters fill the room, "I was kidding, you're fine. The doctors did a good job."

"Which by the way, I need to tell them that you're awake." She mutters looking down, "How did we get here?" I asked. She looks back up and stares at me before a moment, "Do you remember anything of what happened last night?"

I rewind my mind to find the memory of what did happen, "I can only remember being shot in the shoulder and then everything went fuzzy and then black."

She bites on her bottom lip nervously, "I'll have to tell you about what happened next once we get out of here but first I need to go get the doctor, okay?"

I nod my head, "Okay, go get the doctors and get me a glass of water, I'm thirsty." She laughs before getting up and walking towards the door, "Yeah yeah, I will."

I waited a couple minutes for her to come back with the doctors, while I was looking around the small room I was in, I heard voices from outside. They seemed like quite murmurs at the beginning but then it started to sound like they were actually in the room. My ears were ringing from the sound being so loud and clear, I then started to actually listen.

"They're inside, what do you want to do?" A shaky voice said quietly.

"We wait, I heard the she-wolf going to get the doctor so they can get out." A strong deep sounding voice says.

My heart started beating rapidly, were they talking about Winter and I?

The shaky voice returns but more meekly, "What do we do when they do get out?"

"We capture them, they're rogues on our land. They need to be disposed of."

Every word seemed to echo in my head, I couldn't fathom why they would want to kill us. I get up quickly and walk out of the room, the voices were still loud and present but I had no intentions of listening. All I knew was that Winter and I needed to get out fast.

I caught on to Winter's scent and followed to where it was leading, it didn't occur to me how I knew it was Winter's and how I could even smell it. It just felt natural like I've always done it.

I vigorously stalked down the white hallways and followed where her scent was, after a few minutes I found her talking to a tall man dressed in white.

I was starting to get sick of seeing white everywhere. Winter's back stiffened and she turned around, her eyes landing right on me, "What are you doing out of bed? I was going to bring the doctor to you." She frowned and started to walk where I was standing with the doctor behind her.

I didn't answer her as I looked over her to the doctor behind. He had a friendly smile on also looking at me, but I didn't quite believe the friendly look he had on. His eyes gleamed a bright green and had blonde hair slicked back in a professional way.

I could feel a scowl slowly grow on my face the more I looked, his eyes widened at the change of look but continued to walk towards me with Winter.

It didn't take long before they both stood in front of me, Winter has a concerned look on her face and the doctors had became blank, I ignored him and turned to Winter.

"We need to leave now." I tell her urgently before walking past in the middle of them and grabbing her arm in the process. She was startled at first before pulling back and making me let go of her, "We will but the doctor needs to check on you first."

I growl out, slowly becoming angry, "I am fine, okay? But we both won't be if we don't get away from here right now."

She shakes her head stubbornly before walking back to a bewildered doctor staring at us, "Come on, it'll only take a couple of minutes." She waves back at me signalling for me to follow.

I grumble quietly before stomping over there, the doctor led us to another white room and telling Winter to wait outside and me to sit down on the bed as he looked through a box which I didn't know he had.

He grabbed a pair of thin scissors and went to my bandaged arm and carefully cut it off, he looked and probed at it for serval minutes. Asking stupid questions which I was starting to think he was trying to stall us from leaving any sooner.

I hissed out when he stabbed my wound with tweezers. He looked at me smugly, "Oh, I'm sorry. It was an accident." He dared to tell me, I could smell lies rolling off him easily and I had enough of this.

I pushed on his chest aggressively and slammed him against a wall, "I'm leaving now, so stay the fuck out of my way." I grounded out very slow so he got that message, I could feel my nails digging into his chest. He looked surprised at my outburst and nodded curtly at me.

I let go and walked out, Winter stood up from a seat when she saw me, "Is everything okay?"

I nodded and smiled brightly at her, "Yep, doctor said everything was all fine and that we're free to go!" She looked unsure of it but nodded stiffly at me, "Okay then, let's get going."

I took the lead and found a back way out of the hospital. Soon after we found a secluded park and sat down to speak about everything.
