Riley's POV
Emily continued to push me into the living room, where I saw James sitting up, confusion on his face. "I already told you, I don't want to speak to him!" I told her, annoyed at her pushiness.
"You need to. You guys need to resolve the problems that have affected you, because it's effecting others too." She told me, trying to convince me that talking to him would be good.
"Fine! I'll talk to him! But I can't guarantee anything nice will come out of my mouth!" I said, snippy.
"Riley!" Emily said sternly in a motherly voice. I rolled my eyes over dramatically.
"Alright!" I said, walking over to him. "James I think we will get along much better next week." I said.
"Thank you Ri-" Emily started to say, before I cut her off.
"When we split up." I finished, smiling at both of them.
"Riley!" Emily snapped, annoyed.
"What?" I asked in a bored way. "I need time to think about whether or not I think we should file for a divorce." I explained to her, causing her to look angry. James looked mad as well, as he sprung up from the couch.
"You want to get divorced?!" He asked, shouting it in surprise at my words. I shook my head.
"I haven't decided that yet." I said, leaning my arm on the arm of the couch, a fake smile spread across my face. "And for the time being, I'd like you to pack up, and go out, and find a new place to live, a maybe permanent place. Preferably by tonight." I said, before turning and walking into the kitchen to make coffee.
"Riley!" I heard Emily say annoyed as her footsteps grew closer.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
James's POV
"I'm alright with you staying here, and I get that you and Riley are arguing, but what I don't get is how did she end up kicking you out?" Eldon asked me, as he placed a pillow on his couch. I was staying at his and Thalia's apartment, on the couch, until I moved back into the house, that is if Riley doesn't divorce me first.
"When we were teenagers we decided if we got married and had kids together, that she'd get the house, and more custody over the kids." I explained to him, unfolding a blanket.
"And you kept a promise from when you were what, 16, 17?" He asked me.
"I wasn't in the mood to argue with her anymore, ok?" I asked him rhetorically, getting annoyed. "She should've become a lawyer, not a restaurant manager." I muttered to myself, thinking of Riley's persistence.
"You good?" Eldon asked me, as I finished placing the blanket on the couch.
"Yeah. Thanks. Night man." I said, and Eldon left for the bedroom, as I settled in on the couch.
