Riley was back from Amy and Alan's the day before New Year's Day. She invited Farkle over. They had planned to kiss just as the ball dropped. Riley grabbed a breath mint. With Lucas she had never been nervous to kiss. But with Farkle. She was freaked out. Suddenly everyone began to scream. "5,4,3,2,1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Riley and Farkle kissed. Farkle had to lean down a lot to reach Riley who was still in her wheelchair. However, They both felt sparks. More than they had ever experienced with Maya or Lucas. Than Maya looked into the window. "So what's up Ex boyfriend!" Maya yelled at Farkle.
"And ex best friend?" Riley yelled," what are you doing? Barging in to my house uninvited!"
"I always do that!" Maya explained.
"Not anymore. Only friends can do that!" Riley yelled back. Riley looked at her mom hinting she wanted to go back to her room. Riley cried herself to sleep. Maya just stood there. She looked at Farkle.
"Why did you kiss Riley!" Maya said. Holding in tears.
"Because you kissed Lucas!" Farkle replied.
"How did you know about that?" Maya whispered.
"Riley told me," Farkle said.
"But that was before the accident," she said back," how can she remember that? And how did she know about it?"
"It was the only thing she remembered," Farkle said," she met Lucas at the park early for her date. When she got there you two were kissing. But you think I'm in pain because you were the one kissing but I feel worse for Riley. She nearly died. And she needs people to be there for her. But she remembers two of the people she trust the most. Stabbing her right in the back!"
"I got to go," Maya said.
Maya walked out the door. An awkward silence formed at the Matthews house.
"Bye. Mr. Matthews, Auggie," Farkle said. Walking out the door.
"Auggie. Why don't you go to bed, Cory said. Auggie went to bed.
"I feel so bad for Riley," Topanga said.
"I know. It's like someone she thought she knew well turned out a stranger," Cory said, " honestly I'm scared about her going back to school in a few days. On her first day back nobody talked to her much. She told me on the way home every one was treating her like a different person and a lot of people stared at her in the hallway because of her wheelchair. She couldn't stop crying. She also felt so behind. In everything."
"Are you saying we shouldn't send her back to school?" Topanga asked.
"Maybe. If we could sigh her up for an online academy." Cory said.
Who would stay with her? We are both working parents and Riley can barely move," Topanga said.
"Shawn!" Cory said.
"Doesn't he have a job?" Topanga asked.
"Only on weekends!" Cory said.
"Ok. You can call him," Topanga said.
