                                                                                          Riley POV

Pain had taken over my body.

This must be what it feels like to be drunk. I wasn't, no I'm in another coma. But if this is how it feels to be drunk, I will never drink.

A warm tear feel on my cold, pale, skin. A soft hand wrapped itself around my dry hand. And smooth lips were placed on my chapped cracking lips. 2 days in a coma and I was physically and  mentally broken.

I had a  choice.  Should I wake up with amnesia, re-meet the world and everyone in it, but forget about the stupid little things, like the way Cole feel asleep next to me, and every single time I wished to kill him. (it should be stuck in your head) Or wake up, as if I was just taking a nap for 2 days. Or do I even stay at all. if I want, I can die right now. I say that selfishly. But maybe its time I do something selfless. what do I want to do?

Than Laura crosses my mind. My world is no longer about me. it is about  the tiny little girl who is barely breathing. Although, technically, it is her fault I'm in this situation. Stop thinking that.

I lay still, yet was drowning in thought, before falling asleep. Suddenly a young adult appears, dressed in a floral dress and boots.

  "who are you?" I ask.

"I'm you, in ten years, but only if you chose to stay," she says.

"what did you do in this situation? like how did you wake up?"

"with full memory. I know you are scared of your past." she hits me.

"ow!" I say.

"but it was in the past!"

"well it still hurts, Rafikki!" I joked.

"well that's how life is. Answer this question, what input does your mom have on your life."

"a lot, she is the only one I'm comfortable talking about my girl problems with. "

"imagine, if she wasn't there, would your life be different?"

"A little, my dad just isn't as understanding with this."

"well Laura will need a mom, just like you still do."

"I'm just-,'' I took a breathe, "not ready, make a decision."

"you better chose soon, after the third coma, we take your longest one, and that is the maximum link. yours is 3 days."

"so if I don't chose by tomorrow,  I die?"

"yeah, goodbye Riley.'' and she fainted in the grey.

"I chose to stay," I yelled. My eyes opened to see Lucas. His messy hair matched the bags under his eyes.

"how long have you been here?" I cough, desperately needing a drink .

"as long as you," he says, "only I left once to grab something.  Lucas got down on one knee, "Riley, I know what your thinking, but its just a promise ring. As soon as we graduate high school, will you be Mrs. Friar."

I nod. Yes, I am speechless, but also in need for a drink. Lucas gave me a water bottle.

"need this?" he ask giving it to me. I chug the whole bottle. "You're thirsty."

"what do you expect? I haven't drunken anything in 2 days, I'm also starving."

"ill call In a nurse,'' Lucas said calling for one, "ones on the way."

"where are my parents?" I ask.

"they are with Laura, the want to make sure nothing happens and the doctor recommended always having a relative with her.'

"can I go see her?"

"I don't know it depends if the nurse thinks you can leave the room."

I nodded of disappointment. a nurse walked in.

"Hello, Ms. Matthews," she says, "how are you doing?"

"I'm a little hungry,'' I said.

"well about that, when you had your surgery, you slipped into a coma, and we had to stop. we are redoing it tomorrow, so until 4-6 hours after the procedure, you will be living on the iv and oxygen tanks." she said. Understandable, I nodded.

"may I see my daughter?" I asked,  "she's in the nicu."

"You may get in the wheelchair and Lucas will push your iv and oxygen, you get no more than 10 minutes."

"thanks." I got to Laura's bed.

"Riley!" my parents said excitedly hugging me. I felt a small pain, where they were in mid-process of a surgery. I hinted to my parents to let go. I looked up at my child. she was so small. the only thing was she looked like Cole, red hair, his face, blue eyes. I tried to ignore that, as I looked at her. she had many tubes throughout her body, including oxygen. she was wearing a very similar hospital gown.

"Lucas, take a picture," I said, "one day I can tell her we were twins." Lucas grabbed his phone and took a picture.

"she smiled!" he said excitedly. I looked at the picture. she did.

"times up," the nurse said. I went back to my room. Lucas uncomfortably sat in one of those plastic chairs.

   "go home," I told him.

"I don't want to leave you alone." he said

"Lucas, Ill be fine! you don't deserve to suffer like this."

"I'll be back tomorrow," he walked out.

Finally, I was alone. Of course, a nurse comes in.

"We need some blood work for tomorrow. By the way, your surgery was moved to 5 am. you will not need to wake up."

the nurse began to prick my arm several times. once she left my arm had about 10 Band-Aids on it. out of boredom, I fell asleep, knowing when I woke up, hopefully my surgery be over, and I'd feel groggy and learn Lucas has 4 temporary identical brothers.
