The new plot is that 5 nations are at war with each other (based on the five main continents) and USA is an extremely successful general from Black (America). He gets captured by Red (Asia) and is sent to a POW camp which he escapes from. He then meets up with Britain, who is one of the best spy/assassin money can buy, and hires them to sneak him out of Red and back into friendly territory. Britain is at first reluctant but USA promises to pay them as much as they want (within reason obv) and they agree.

France on the other hand, is a noble turned deserter turned vigilante. He is arrested before the events of the story and put on death row, however he keeps surviving each execution, kept alive by magic. He starts the story by breaking out of prison, along with a kid he finds in there (East Germany. It's a long and complicated story). Britain and him reunite, and as much as he dislikes helping someone who would perpetuate the war, he knows and understands Britain's motivations so he helps anyways (bringing along East Germany).

USA slowly starts to realize that war is bad and then they try to end it.

I think Japan would be a bounty hunter whoever is in charge of Red would send to get USA back. She might get a redemption arc, Zuko style. Seychelles is no doubt the leader of a pirate coven.

So to round up the og gang (except IJM) I had planned for the book

USA: Very decorated general, one of the best in the war and a the face of the Black war effort. Just escaped a Red POW camp and is trying to go back home

Britain: Really good spy/assassin with seemingly no morals or motivations other than money. Feared, hated and sought after, all for the same reason (their skill in anything shady)

France: Disowned noble that got drafted, deserted, became a vigilante, imprisoned, then escaped. All that over the span of 10 years

Japan: Bounty hunter sent by Red, pressured by her father. Tracking, spying, stealth and combat skills on par with those of Britain, though with less hands on experience

Seychelles: Leader of a pirate coven, houses then moves refugees from Yellow (Africa) to places less directly touched by the war. Hates the civil war going on there due to decreased profits (the sea is full of navy ships and it's getting riskier) and how many refugees end up in her coven
