Nico and I walked to the Aphrodite cabin to see if Amber was there. She was always acting like a daughter of Aphrodite. She conspired with all of the other girls to get girls and guys together or to break guys hearts.

Amber wasn't there, so we checked the Apollo cabin, because she had told me that she had a crush on a guy there. No Amber. Next we searched the Ares, Hephaestus, and Hermes cabins. She wasn't in any of them. Although Nico and I did almost get beat up by a bunch of angry Ares campers. They don't seem to like me anymore, and I also didn't know that even though they were so mean that they were protective over their siblings.

Literally. One of them said to me 'Don't ever mess with my little bro again, or I'll break you.' This was directed towards me. What he said to Nico is too vile to repeat.

So afterward Nico and I wandered around hoping to find her. We did, but not it the way that I was expecting to.

We were near the forest's tree line when I heard muffled voices.

"Have you done what I have asked of you?" One husky deep voice said. That was definitely not Amber.

"Not yet." A trembling, unsteady voice said. Bingo. Amber was talking.

"What?!" The other voice said.

"I'm sorry! It's difficult!"

"I need the boy and girl soon! The daughter of Athena and son of Hades. If they aren't in my possession soon then there will be consequences. Punishment." The deeper man's voice was now angry.

My heart skipped a beat. A daughter of Athena. A son of Hades. Shit.

"No! I-I mean yes! I will capture them soon. And bring them to you!" It sounded like Amber had burst into tears.

"Good. Don't disappoint me or I will destroy every single one of your precious demigod friends. Camp Half Blood will be obliterated if you don't do what I ask of you."

"I will. I will. I promise."

"Good."

Nico and I heard the strong whoosh of wind and then it was silent.

We heard Amber fall to her knees and begin to cry. Nico looked down to me. His eyes said that he wanted to go talk to Amber, but instead we quietly slipped back into Camp.

"What was that?!" Nico said in the Hades cabin. We were sitting on the couch with Nico sitting normally with his legs down, and me right next to his thighs and my knees hovering over him.

"Amber's not okay. Something's going on. A conspiracy." I decided. "Neeks, they wanted a boy and a girl. A daughter of Athena and a son of Hades." I waited patiently for Nico's response.

"I don't know. I could be anyone."

"You know that's not true."

"I know." Nico said softly. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close to his warm body.

"What do we do?" I said.

"Nothing. At least not yet. We need to think about it and see if Amber is acting strange around you or me." Nico told me thoughtfully.

"That sounds good, but she hasn't come close to me by choice in a while."

"That's the issue, so we are going to have to talk to her. See if she breaks and tells us." Nico said.

"Okay. But are we at least going to tell anyone else like Percy or Piper?"

"I'm not sure yet." Nico stroked my long wavy hair gently.

Nico was about to try and stand when I pulled him down.

"No." I said. "Stay with me for a minute." Nico plopped himself back down. I leaned forward and kissed him while he kissed me back.

"I love you." Nico whispered into my ear.

"I love you more."
