LUKE'S P.O.V

"You ready?" Kate asked. Well this was awkward. The female was ready while I struggled to straighten my bow tie.
I spun around, still looking down on it.
"Yeah I just can't get this freaking bow tie-" My words cut off as I looked up.
She looked amazing, she wore a dress that was black at the top, with the mint green bottom fanning out slightly with black heels to match.
Her hair was out, a few bits brushed over her part.
"Something wrong?" She asked.
"No... You just look beautiful.."
"Well that's good then, because you did pick this for me."
I smiled.
She giggled slightly and stepped forward, straightening my bow tie.
"There, now you look handsome."
I grinned and took her hand.
"Shall we?"

We walked into the restaurant, Kate spotting Dean almost immediately.
"You have good eyes."
"Anyone can spot that sluts split red hair no matter what the crowd." She mumbled.
I looked at the Dean's girlfriend. She looked nice. Looked.

I swear her eyes darkened as soon as she saw Kate. Whereas Kate was a little more subtle. She smiled.

We sat down.
"Long time no see." The girl smiled.
"Sure is." Kate smiled back.
They sat there smiling, but their eyes told a whole different story.
Dean cleared his throat, breaking the silence.
"Luke this is Soraya, Soraya this is Luke."
"Call me Ray." She smiled again.

Ray?...

I smiled slightly awkwardly and nodded. She turned to Kate.
"So, Kate Alton in a dress. What a rarity, nice and uh.. Causal?"
I took a sip of water silently.
"Well I figure we're out for dinner. Not bridesmaids in a wedding." She smiled, making me choke on my water.
"You good?"
"Yep.. Wrong hole." I coughed in reply.

It was true though. Soraya was in a long silk navy dress. It really looked like she'd come from a wedding.

An entree come out.
Kate raised an eyebrow.
"How fancy. We don't even have to order."
Soraya took a sip of the minestrone soup.
"Yes I don't know if you should eat this Katey. It might ruin your 6 pack."
"Only HE gets to call me that." She snapped slightly, pointing to Dean.

The night dragged, we ate through a perfect slice of Tiramisu.
"So Luke, how was high school for you?" Dean asked. He'd been trying to make conversation towards me all night, trying to clear the tension between Soraya and Kate.

Guess it's lucky I did come.

"It was okay." I replied.
"You guys dropped out once you started to thrive right?"
"Yeah, can't say we were getting straight A's all the time."
"What were you in the divisions of the dreaded hellhole?"
I laughed.
"Outsiders."
"Ahh, kinda like old Katey here." Dean teased.
"That's expected." Soraya cut in.
"People were just scared of me." She replied.
Soraya just laughed.
Kate pushed her spoon down, clenching her jaw.
"What's so funny Soraya."
"Pretty sure they just thought of you as the girl with insane parents."

Dean's eyes widened as mine did, the whole restaurant going quiet and turning to our table, why the hell did they all know English???
Kate laughed and shook her head.
"You're fucking incredible."
She stood up, slamming her chair into the table and stormed out.
Dean stood quickly.
"Kate wait!"
Soraya rolled her eyes.
"Just let her go."
"No way in hell. We are done." Dean snapped at her, standing up.
"And, don't think I'm paying the bill for this stupid restaurant."
Soraya stood there speechless as he walked towards the back door Kate had went out.

I followed quickly and stopped him.
"Maybe I should follow her.. I can imagining her clocking you."
"I think I deserve it." He murmured.
"Just.. Let me talk to her.. Please?"
He gave a nod, I ran out the door, noticing a huge hole in the wall, making me frown.

I walked through a small park, seeing her sitting on the ponds bridge, staring down into the water.
I walked up and sat next to her, looking up at the moon.
"You know I'm impressed. You didn't break her nose."
She didn't move.
I looked at her and frowned.
"You okay?"
"Did Dean send you."
"No.. I-"
"Probably lucky he didn't come himself. Who knows what I would of done. Oh wait he'd never do that would he? He's probably too busy fucking his slut."
"He broke up with her."
"Oh wow. Nice to know there's some type of sense left in him."
Her voice broke slightly at the end of her sentence.
"Kate.. Look at me."
Her head stayed down.
I reached out, tilting her chin to me gently, seeing the tears staining her cheeks.
She ripped away and looked down again.

I got down from the cobblestone ledge of the bridge and lifted her down.
She looked up at me as I wiped her tears.
"No one can be strong forever.." I said softly.

She leaned closer to me as I did, staring into each others eyes before our lips touched.
