My heart sped up. The cute kid that I crashed into Walmart a week ago. What was his name..? "Derek?" The words flew out of my mouth before I even got to process it. His head shot up. He smiled a genuine smile. Not a fake one. But a true one. "Hey Ana. So when were you going to tell me you were Ashley Purdys daughter?" I scratch my neck "uhh I don't know..." He laughs. Such a adorable laugh. "Thanks for saving my sister early. Really means a lot. Especially since she was a total stranger to you. You got guts. I like that.." I barely managed to hear the last part. "Really you like that?" He looked surprised. He turned a light shade of pink. "You heard that?" I nodd. He turns a shade darker. "Who knew that a girl who has gone to so many tours still has excellent hearing?" I laugh "I'm one of a kind" I wink and he laughs. "You wanna skip class?" "Huh?!" "I said. Do you want to skip class?" "Ummm I don't know what will happen?" "Absolutely nothing" "are you sure?" "Yep." "Uh okay.." He grabs my hand and I blush but I make sure to cover my face before he notices. We exit through the doors to band hall and we walk the rest of the way to Starbucks. We get there and the lady asks what we want. "Can I have a medium Caffe Mocha?" "And I'll have a medium vanilla latte." She nods. I get out my wallet to pay but Derek beats me to it. I let him pay because supposedly it was a thank you gift. We sit down and as luck would have it my dad shows up. I don't think he notices me but just in case I make sure my backs to him. "Derek. My dads here. What are we going to do?!" I whisper yell. "Calm down. He won't notice us. I'm sure of it." "Thanks you just jinxed us." "Did not" "did to" "did not" "did to" "did n-" "excuse me. Your being a bit loud and I can't concentrate on my work" shit shit shit. That's my dad. I hope he doesn't look at me. Oh no. "Ma'am could you please tell your boyfriend to keep it down?" "H-he's not my boyfriend.." I whisper while blushing a shit load. "Wait. Ana?!?" "Uhhh... Surprise....?" A flash of shock takes place on his face. Then anger and disappointment. "Ana. Aren't you suppose to be in class?" "Yes.." I whisper. "In that case?" "I uh-" "it was my fault." My dad seems to finally recognize him. He doesn't seem as mad anymore. "And you are?" "Derek. Your daughter has nothing to do with this. I was the one to convince her so please. Don't punish her." And then he laughs. My dad. The one that looked so upset just a minute ago is laughing. What is happening?! I look at him quizzically. "Dad. Are you okay?" "You Ana picked one hell of a man." "What do you mean?" "He is your boyfriend isn't he?" I blush and quickly say no. To quick because my dad gets a stupid grin. "Whatever. Be safe and use a condom. Oh and I'm not mad. Thank that fella in front of you for that. Now. Off to band practice!" He walks off and I sigh in relief. I look down interested in the table instead of Derek. "I'm sorry about my dad.." "Its fine. He seems one hell of a dad" "he is and sorry about the boyfriend thing.. I don't know what got into his head." "Its no problem let's go so we won't get in trouble" "okay" he grabbedy hand and again I blushed. Derek turned around and looked at me curiosity covered every inch of his face. "What's wrong?" "N-nothing" he shrugs and keeps walking the rest of the walk was in a comfortable silence. "So how are we getting back in?" "Same way we got out" I nod, and start walking ahead but something stops me.

I grab her hand. She stops. This is my chance. My only chance. I pull her to me and I kiss her softly and walk away to my next class. I can't believe it. I was actually able to kiss her!
