After Evie and Doug's engagement Ben started thinking. When will I ask Mal to marry me? What about after her 16th birthday, granted she doesn't want a party cause she's never had one. I'll go house shopping tomorrow and surprise her after the party then ask her to marry me. It was full proof but he couldn't do it by himself. He needed someone who knew Mal better than she knew herself. That's it! Evie! They were practically sisters. Ben jumped off the couch and ran through every corridor until he found his parents. "Mom, dad I need your help." Ben knew they wouldn't mind helping because they loved Mal almost as much as he did. "Sure. What is it sweetie?" His mother asked. She was always easier to approach than his father. "I think I wanna marry Mal." Ben said fearfully worried that they wouldn't accept his decision. "Ben honey can you elaborate on that?" Even though Ben's mother was very sweet she was often immune to tough love when it came to the well being of her son. "Evie, as you know is engaged and I learned that my life could end in a split second and I don't want to waste any time. For example when you guys got married and I asked you what the vow 'Til death do us part' meant and you said that I'd know when I was ready to get married well now I know. I'm sorry if you don't agree with me but I'm marrying Mal." Ben's dad hadn't said anything this whole time which was starting to worry Ben. "Dad say something. Anything." Ben pleaded. "Ben the day you were born was the happiest day of mine and your mother's life. And that day when your mother was holding you she asked me if I could keep you from growing up too fast. I said yes but someday I knew you'd have to. And I knew that the day that you would decide to marry the love of your life would come and that it would also be the day that you become a man. Son that's all a father ever wants for his boy. So if you truly love Mal and you want to marry her then we'd be honored to have her as a daughter." Ben never knew his dad was so long winded. "Thanks guys!" Ben never pictured his parents to be so supportive over this. "Ben you needed help with something." His mother reminded him. "Oh right! Well I've decided I'm going to propose to Mal on her 16th birthday next Saturday but she's already told me she doesn't want a party so I'm heading over to get Jay and Carlos right now and then we're going to Evie's to set everything up. We're also going house hunting tomorrow so I'm staying with Jay tonight. And since Mal knows nothing about this mom, I'll need you to take her to the spa or whatever you girls do to distract her for the day. And dad you'll come meet up with me and Carlos in his dorm to make sure everything is set." Ben explained. "Do Evie, Carlos, and Jay know about this?" Ben's mother snickered at her son's eagerness.
"Not yet but they're about to." Ben had a problem with planning things without informing anyone. "Ok honey I think we got it now go." Ben was so happy he didn't even notice when he made it out of the castle. Even though he hated running it did clear his mind plus he was really fast so he knew he could make it to the dorms in 5 minutes flat. Ben was so happy he just hoped Mal would say yes. What am I saying? Of course she'll say yes she loves me. Ben started to get nervous. Oh no. Ben thought. He was a nervous sweater. Chances are by the time he got to the guys' dorms he'd be soaked. Lucky for him he had just arrive to the dorms. He looked for dorm room 223 which was Carlos' dorm. He knew Jay would be in there. Knock. Knock. Carlos heard someone banging on the door and Dude started barking. He couldn't take it so he paused his video game to answer the door. Ben. Shocker. "Hey man what's up?" Carlos put on his best fake smile cause honestly he had more important things to attend to. Meaning he had zombies to kill. "I wanna marry Mal what's it to ya?" Ben replied sarcastically. Right then Carlos felt his jaw drop to the floor. "How ya gonna do that?" He laughed. "I have a plan." Ben smiled. Oh no nothing good ever happens when Ben has a plan. Carlos thought to himself. He hoped it didn't end up like last time. Let's just say Chad still has only one eyebrow.
