"So you got it? Good." Ben said to Carlos and Jay after explaining the plan. "Got it." They replied in unison. "Let's roll. We gotta get to Evie's before dark." Jay chirped excitedly. Wait Jay never chirps. Ben thought. He knew something was up and he would find out what it was. "Hey Jay can I talk to you real quick before we go? Alone." Ben said nodding at Carlos. "Uh...Sure?" Jay confusingly replied showing Ben to the balcony. When they knew Carlos couldn't here them Ben spoke up. "Do you like Evie?" Ben has always been the type of person to cut to the chase. "No I don't!" Jay replied disgustingly. "Jay don't lie to me I see the way you look at her! I remember the first few days after you came and Evie said she had nothing to wear to the Tourney game and you told her she'd look gorgeous in anything. And then after my coronation I seen you walk away right after Evie announced her engagement. Now Jay we've been like brothers since the day you came to Auradon and you know that we can tell each other anything so look me in the eyes and tell me you don't have feelings for Evie." Wow Ben must've taken after his father in the long winded department. "Fine I do. But, whatever it doesn't matter anyways she's getting married and I'm really happy for her." Jay sighed. "Jay it does matter! If there's one thing I've learned from all of you is to make what you believe in a reality. It's not too late." "Ben she'll be a married woman soon so I think it's best that we leave the past where it belongs. Okay?" Jay was secretly upset but he couldn't let it show he had his bad boy reputation to maintain. "Okay. Let's go." Being the person that he was Ben learned to accept other people's decisions with clarity. Ben, Jay, and Carlos arrived to Evie and Mal's dorm just before 7:00. Lucky for them Mal wasn't there she was out shopping for a new dress for Evie and Doug's wedding. There's a surprise. One of the first things Ben learned about Mal was that she HATED shopping with a passion. "So what's up?" Evie said plopping down next to Jay sending an uncomfortable shiver up his spine. "I've decided I'm going to propose to Mal on her birthday. But I can't do it by myself. I need your help." Ben covered his ears waiting for Evie's squeal and surely enough it came. "Oh. My. Gosh. Of course I'll help. What do you need me to do?" "Well first things first keep Mal away from Carlos. Everyone knows he can't keep a secret. No offense buddy." But you could tell he took it offensively. "Anyways I also need you to come with us to go house hunting tomorrow. Ya know just tell us what you think Mal would and wouldn't like. Lastly can you go with my mom and Mal Saturday and keep them out until any of us text you to come back? Oh and do you have a good venue in mind?" "Wow Ben I'm honored that you trust me so much. I bet we could have the party at Queen Aurora and King Phillip' castle. I kinda have connections." Suddenly the door opened. It was Mal. "Oh hey Jay, Carlos. Hey honey." She said walking over and kissing Ben on the cheek. "Hey princess." Mal loved it when Ben called her princess. It made her feel like she actually was one. "What are you guys up to?" "Nothing much Ben was just telling me how much he loves you." Thanks Evie. Ben thought. If anyone slipped his proposal would be ruined. "Aw babe you're so sweet. I love you too. So exactly how much do you love me?" "More than you'll ever know." The two started to kiss when Carlos cleared his throat. "Please not in front of us." He covered his eyes. "Sorry." Ben said. "Hey do you wanna go do something tomorrow?" Mal asked looking up at Ben. "Sorry sweetie I can't. Me, Jay, and Carlos are having a guys day." "Oh okay well how about you E?" She said turning towards Evie. "Sorry I can't either I'm going out with Doug." We are great liars. Ben thought. "Wait I heard something about Audrey was going to invite you to go with her to go to the movies but she couldn't find you. Want me to call her?" Carlos asked. "Sure." Just then Fairy Godmother popped her head in the room. "It's past eight. Boys get back to your dorms." She said gently. "You heard her boys. Out." Mal laughed. "You're not leaving until I get a kiss." She said pulling Ben back by the collar and kissing him. "Bye Benny Boo." "How many times have I told you not to call me that. It took all I had when I was with Audrey not to slap her when she called me that." Ben complained. "Just go. I love you." Mal said pushing him out the door. "Love you too." He replied right before she slammed the door in his face. He started walking back to the guys' dorms. He was so excited. His plan was falling into place. Pretty soon he could call that firey purple-haired beauty his fiancé. And he couldn't wait.
