note : hello, everyone! happy 600k reads to venomous 🫶🏻 thank you, as always, for the love and support.
i wrote this when i was around 16, and yes, i'm fully aware of how badly written it is. i do plan to revise it—though i’m not sure when i’ll be able to start.
anyway, here’s a special chapter to celebrate hitting 600k reads.
fem!iguro obanai reader x bonten various.

“what’s with the sudden visit?” kaburamaru hissed lowly as he shifted around your neck, his scales brushing against your clothes while you approached the area where the bonten executives stood with mikey.
“nothing serious. we’re done with work and had nothing better to do,” rindou replied casually, his hands slipping into his pockets as his eyes scanned the place. they’ve been to your estate once before, but this area was unfamiliar.
this is where the kakushi had led them upon arrival. the air was still, almost too quiet, considering they’d been informed you were currently training low-ranking demon slayers under your supervision.
“you busy?” sanzu asked, his eyes landing on the wooden sword in your hand or also known as a bokuto. there was a glint of interest, or maybe amusement, in his gaze.
“told you all this wasn’t the right time to visit,” mochi muttered, letting out a tired sigh. he had tried, half-heartedly perhaps, to stop them from barging in unannounced.
you’d been gone for three days, having asked mikey for a full week off. not that mikey could deny you, not when you had a valid reason, and definitely not when he knew better than to argue with you.
“not really,” you answered plainly, voice as flat and emotionless as always, “but i’m training lowranks under my wing at the moment.”
“where are they though?” ran asked, brows drawn together as he looked around. “i don’t even hear anything.” the rest of the group murmured in quiet agreement, starting to think maybe you were just making excuses to get rid of them.
“they’re inside.” you gestured lazily with your bokuto toward the door behind you. kaburamaru gave a hiss, like a silent warning, or maybe an affirmation.
“uh... can we watch?” kakucho asked carefully, his voice hesitant. he didn’t want you to feel like they were intruding, even though that’s exactly what they were doing.
you didn’t respond right away. your eyes studied them for a moment too long, unreadable and cold. they started to sweat, unsure if they’d said something wrong.
then, without a word, you turned your back to them and walked toward the dojo’s entrance.
