*Castiel*

I walked the crowded streets of New York City, I think it's been a week since God shunned me, but I'm not sure, time moves differently down here. My human vessel has whined from inside that it wants to go back to his family, but of course, he can't. I was forced into him by the hand of God.

I've tried everything to get heaven to hear me. I've tried to summon other angels to help me, but it seems they've all cut me off from heaven for the time being. I never sleep, I never eat, I don't have too. I'm a crippled angel. I'm not able to access my wings. The only things I can do is heal minor injuries, knock people unconscious, and transport myself a few states away. My powers have diminished. I'm not able to use any of heaven's power while I'm down here. The problem is, I don't know exactly why I'm down here. Heaven's gates won't open up for me, with these broken wings, I've fallen.

I guess, this is a new start for me. I can be who I want to be, but the thing is, I can't feel. I don't know how to be human. In heaven we only went by God's orders. We weren't allowed to feel any emotion whatsoever. We were all stone up in heaven. We acted like gargoyles, watching over Earth, but not being able to interfere. Everyone thinks angels are perfect beings who help people, but we're really brutes, we will kill anyone or anything if it's an order. We don't help humans, we help ourselves.

I kept my eyes to the ground as I walked. I didn't want to risk eye contact with anyone. The thought that I have to live like this for the rest of my life disgusted me. I quickened my pace to get off of the sidewalk. Which in hindsight, probably wasn't a good idea. I smacked right into someone.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry!" A soft voice exclaimed. I lifted my eyes. The beautiful girl that stood in front of me was babbling on that she should've watched where she was going. Her long, wavy, brown hair shined in the pale morning glow. Her green eyes were searching my face as she spoke. "Hello? Sir? Can you hear me?" I suddenly realized that she was talking to me.

"Yes I can hear you, and I'm fine. You barely harmed me at all." She smiled and her bright teeth seemed otherworldly.

"Good, hi, I'm Ariel." She stuck out her hand and I looked at it confused. Awkwardly, she pulled it away. Clearing her throat she said, "Um...and you are?"

"Castiel, an angel of The Lord." I felt as if I couldn't make my gravely voice loud enough for her to hear. Ariel laughed, a light, wonderful sound. "Why are you laughing?"

"Just because you said you're an angel! Angels are people with wings, halos, and have a heavenly light surrounding them!"

"You must truly be an idiot if you think that is true." I bluntly said. That's a downside of having no emotions, you don't regret anything you say.

"Excuse me?"

"I said you're an idiot to believe that angels are like that."

"I hope I never see you again cause you're a raging jackass!" Ariel pushed by me and continued waking down the sidewalk. I could hear her angrily mumbling to herself. When she left I could feel the cold air next to me, where her presence should've been. I probably shouldn't have said those things to her, but I don't know much better. I wished I was in the apartment I rented. In an instant I was back into the dingy apartment. Why am I here? I don't know what I'm supposed to do?

"God, give me a sign, please." I begged.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't little Castiel."

"Uriel?" Uriel was my partner up in heaven. He was worse than me. He can glance at a human and want to obliterate them.
