#Episode105
Flashback (continued):
It was late in the afternoon, Santosh lay on her seat, half sleeping, half scrolling on her mobile phone. Pushpa ji was done resting. She got up from her seat to check upon santu whose seat was directly above pushpa Ji's.
She saw her face, pale, why? She wondered. She checked, Santosh was burning, she had a high fever. Now she knows why she wasn't responding when Pushpa Ji's called out her name.
Pushpa ji panicked, they were travelling, how will she manage? Santosh was suffering, she was shivering.
Pushpa ji quickened her actions, she covered santosh with both of their blankets, the shivering has stopped. She soon arranged for a bowl, bought a bottle of chilled water from a vendor that had boarded the train to sold water and chips.
She shifted santosh to the lower berth, to her own seat, sat by the side and started doing 'thande paani ki patti'. She was so determined, that she lost track of time, untill finally, Santosh was normal, the fever had gone.
Pushpa ji let out a breath, the one, she wasn't even aware she was holding. Santosh was fast asleep. Pushpa ji checked the upcoming stations on her phone, one was about to come in 15mins, she had to buy tablets, antibiotic.
She can't risk Santosh's health. She didn't know the cause of fever, but she did know it's nature, it could come again after a while and that would only worsen the situation for Santosh, add up to her weakness.
But how could pushpa ji leave? She couldn't leave Santosh alone in the train when she was sleeping. Neither was she willing to wake her up, that might make her health more complex.
She then glanced at the passenger opposite to them, it was another pair of mother and daughter. It was only the 4 of them from the beginning, the other seats were vacant.
But, the daughter out of the other duo was young, she was only 7 years old. Pushpa ji knew as she had helped them by giving them a packet of milk, which was much needed for the kid. The mother was super grateful and even wanted to pay, but Pushpa ji refused.
The mother out of them then spoke to pushpa ji
Mother: ma'am, agla station 3mins mei aayega, aap Jaa ke medicine le aaiye, aapki beti ki tabiyat agar raat ko bigadh gayi, toh khamakha taklif badh jayegi aap dono ki
Pushpa ji knew she was right, but she didn't care about being troubled herself, all she cared about at that moment was Santosh, she wanted her to be fine, to be her jolly self back again.
PJ: par, hum, kaise....
She fell short of words
Mother: hum hai na, hum dhyan rakhenge iska, agle station pe hault pure 20mins ka hai, koi toh dukan hogi hi dawai ki, aap le aaiye... Hum aapse vada karte hai, hum pura dhyan rakhenge iska
Pushpa ji was hesitant, but she knew she had no other options. This was ther only way, and she had to trust the women, it was a mother's promise to another mother, she wouldn't break it, that's what pushpa ji prayed and then agreed.
Soon the station came, pushpa ji stood up with her purse, wore her sandals.
PJ: aap pls dhyan rakhiyega iska, hum 5min mei aa jayenge
But before she could leave, the 7 year old daughter, Nitya, spoke up to her mother
Nitya: mumma hume chips aur cupcake chahiye bahar se
Mother: nahi beta, hum tumhe akele nahi jaane denge
Nitya: toh aap bhi chalo na
Mother: ye samne vali didi ki tabiyat kharab hai na, unke paas bhi toh koi bada chahiye, aap chips rehne do na
Nitya: par aapne promise Kiya tha ki hum agle station pe utrenge kyuki hault zyada hai
Said Nitya, her tone indicating that she was quite upset
Pushpa ji intervened
PJ: aap bura na maane toh hum le jaaye bachi ko? Dawai ke saath chips aur cupcake bhi le aayenge, kyu? (She said glancing at Nitya)
Nitya jumped excitedly
Nitya: han mumma, hum aunty ke saath jaaye pls
Mother: aap kyu taklif karengi?
Pj: bachi ko station dekhna hai, aur chips lena hai, isme konsi taklif, hum dhyan se le aayenge, aap befikar rahiye
PJ said assuring her
The mother gave in, she turned to Nitya and warned her, "don't you dare leave aunty's hand, be quick, and no zidd, clear?"
Nitya mock saluted to her mother and happily went with Pushpa ji, they bought medicine, mineral water, chocolates, cupcakes and chips... Nitya was overjoyed. Meanwhile Santosh was sleeping, Nitya's mother ensured her safety and security.
The train journey went smoothly there after. PJ made Santosh had a tablet after dinner. The fever kept coming and going, experience told Pushpa ji it was viral fever.
Soon they reached home, Pj visited the doctor along with Santosh that evening itself, she didn't wanna delay or risk her health by even a percent.
Doctor gave a prescription full of medicines and mentioned Santosh having severe cold and cough, due to which fever came up.
PJ then thanked, bought the medicines and left. The following 3 days were tough for both the mother and daughter. While pushpa ji was aware about Santosh hiding something, she also couldn't figure out the reason herself.
She indirectly tried, but got no positive responses. She had taken utmost care of Santosh in this duration. While Santosh was just scared on how Pushpa ji would react knowing about the incident that lead to this condition of her health.
She was concerned seeing pushpa ji so worried about her. She didn't like it, she didn't wanna trouble her amma, but here she was, lying on the bed, trying to recover.
The fever had now gone, 3days since they returned. Haseena had called up Pushpa ji to enquire about their journey.
She did check on them throught WhatsApp but couldn't make the time to call being stuck up between Karishma's health and academy work.
Aaj ke liye bas itna hi...
