Haseena acting weird

HM (interrupted): har sum mei errors hai, ye yaha pe, 2nd sum mei, concept hi galat hai aapka, agar samajh nahi aa rha kuch toh humse puchna chahiye na aapko, galat kyu kar rhi hai

Before Karishma could respond, Haseena shifted to the next page

HM: ye 3rd sum, isme aapne building aur machine mei se depreciation minus hi nahi kiya hai, aur creditors ka balance daalna bhi galat hai...

Haseena pulled Karishma's ears again, even more firmly this time, such that Karishma almost cried and pleaded "ouuch, ayii, dii sorry"
Haseena stood up and continued....

HM: nahi aap pehle bataiye, dhyan kaha hai aapka? Aur school mei ekdum dhyan nahi de rahi hai na, ek concept sahi nahi hai... Uparse itna bhi nahi ki samne baithe hai hum, samajh ke karle... Par nahi, homework samajhne ke liye thodi karti hai aap, timepass aur bas for the sake of submission ke liye karti hai

Haseena gave her ear another twist and this time Karishma cried out "ahaa noor dii humare kaan nikal aayenge, pls chodh dijiye"

Haseena left her ears and gave her a tapli, followed by a whack on her back. She then warned Karishma, holding her shoulders firmly

HM: Karishma it's high time that you learn to obey and complete your work honestly, hum agar regular padhane lage aapko toh fir I won't be easy on you

Karishma nodded, she was already stunned enough to speak, her ear was red and the whacks were enough for her to know. Meanwhile Haseena, she exhaled, she knew, it wasn't just the homework that made her angry, it was about the assignment as well.

But she made it a point, to repeatedly remind herself about what she has decided. She will speak to Karishma about it as a coach, she can't take that out on her, using the accounts homework.

Currently, Karishma's concepts were unclear, and Haseena had to solve those, that was her priority. To teach, explain and provide clarity about the subject. It's her 12th, board year, she can't take risks.

Haseena then sat back again, made Karishma stand and explained her all the concepts, she then made Karishma solve all the sums on her own again.

Karishma did it, and it was all correct this time. But to Karishma's surprise, Haseena didn't seem very happy, she just said "fine, go rest now, I'll call you for dinner", no "good job" or any appreciating comments were made.

That was weird, because as much as Haseena was keen on teaching Karishma the best, making her work hard, be disciplined and perfect at things, Haseena was always super active at appreciation, even at the most little things, like getting a sum right on the first attempt. She always made it a point to appreciate.

Appreciation was Haseena's way of motivating Karishma. But this time, it was different, it was as if Haseena had ignored this little victory of Karishma getting all her sums finally correct and that her concepts were clear.

Karishma even apologized, but the response was quite inadequate. Karishma then returned to her room and thought about everything she did, throughout the day. There wasn't one reason that could've made Haseena upset or angry.

Haseena was acting weird, cold and distant to be appropriate. "But why?* Was all Karishma wanted to figure out. She went to Haseena and tried cracking silly jokes, but Haseena simply brushed everything off. It was like, she didn't want to have a conversation.

Karishma felt that her Noor di is probably hiding something. What could it be?.... "Maybe something at work", she thought, "mission, cases, Students, studenttttsss" then her mind struck, assignments, Haseena had been checking some assignments.

Karishma rushed out of her room and peeped from the corridor. Haseena was in her room, reading a book. Karishma crept to the hall, towards the dinning table, there it was, the stack of assignments.

She looked over them, all bundles seemed to be arranged alphabetically. Then her eyes caught one bundle, the first name on top of which read "Saumya Gupta", she read the cover page, she is from Karishma's batch.

"Why is her file on top?", her mind wandered. She then again looked everywhere, when assured of Haseena being in her room, she quickly opened Saumya's file, in the end it was written "word count not maintained, meet me in my cabin".

It was then, Karishma realised, this was the bundle that is going to fall into trouble tomorrow. But as she was about to close the file, she noticed the topic page of the assignment, on thinking a little, she remembered it, this is "THAT ASSIGNMENT"

The assignment, which Karishma had submitted, even after Haseena strictly warning her not to. Haseena had told her, to make a new one, but Karishma was in a different mood then, she was more into having fun.

She was exploring the city, enjoying, eating junk food, shopping and binge watching srk movies in the theatre with ammi. She was having the time of her life, all the while forgetting about Maddam Mallik's warning and instructions.

All this while, she had completely forgotten about it, but now, she knew why Haseena acted such. She searched and found her file in the same bundle, she read it, the comment, but hers one, was different, it had no explanatory comments like the other files, just a "meet me" and that was even more scary.

She set the files back in the same order as it was before. Now, Karishma was in a dilemma, whether she should approach Haseena right away and apologize or should she wait until tomorrow, like Haseena wants it to be.

She definitely doesn't want an extra punishment right now. She is well aware that approaching now would mean a double punishment, one from her sister, her Noor di, the other from the coach, maddam mallik.

But she also couldn't see Haseena this way, upset and distant. She went to her room and thought, she thought alot.

Her eyes wandering all around, until it stopped, at a photo frame of Haseena and Karishma, it was one from their childhood, little Haseena and Karishma.

Karishma smiled at it, went towards it and held it close to her heart. "We don't hide things from each other, we are sister, noor dii is my elder sister, meri badi behen hai vo, I don't get to hide things from her"

Aaj ke liye bas itna hi...
