**********************************************
This one's kinda long because I suck at doing chapter breaks... And as always, I hope you enjoy!
**********************************************My alarm started blaring at six in the morning. "You have got to be shitting me. I'm so fucking tired," I said as I hit the snooze button. I stayed laying down for about five minutes before I finally sat up and stretched. "Time for another day in hell," I told Cas as I got out of bed. I went to my closet and pulled out my blue zip-up hoodie. I normally wore it after jobs because I never really felt up to putting together outfits after them.
After pulling out some black jeans and a black t-shirt, I went to the kitchenette to make myself a bowl of cereal. I'm sure that my daily morning routine isn't all that interesting, so I'll go ahead and skip to after I get dressed and all that fun stuff. I ran a comb through my short, black hair with dyed electric blue streaks and quickly put my Batman pocket knife in the bottom of my blue backpack.
"Selina, I'm heading to school," I yelled as I went to the front door.
"Okay kiddo, be safe," she yelled back. I laughed as I opened up the door. I walked to the elevator and pushed the button for the main floor. My thoughts turned to the new kid in my English, science, and home ec classes, Richard Grayson.
Even though his name was Richard, everyone called him Dick. He had jet-black hair and icy blue eyes, and overall was really swoon-worthy. He was also tall, which was a real plus for me. Not to mention the fact that he was Bruce Wayne's adopted son. From what I could tell, the women in Gotham really loved Bruce. He was never really the type of guy I went after, except from what I know of his music taste.
The elevator dinged as I got to the ground floor. It was only 6:30, so I could go get a coffee or something before school started in an hour. I lived ten minutes from the school so I normally got coffee on the mornings I left the apartment early. Other times I just hung out with my friends before school. I walked to a small coffee shop about halfway between school and the apartment complex. "One chai tea latte please," I told the barista.
"Sure thing," he said as he rang me up. "Normally I'd charge $2.50, but since you're pretty I'm gonna charge you $1.50," he said.
"Wow, Thomas. Really gonna use that line again," I joked as I handed him the cash. I had been coming to this coffee shop ever since I started living with my Selina. I fell into a great friendship with the owner's son, Thomas. We flirted often, but it never really led to anything.
"I can try. I should probably leave for school soon too," he told me. Thomas was in the same grade as me, so we normally hung out at school too.
"That reminds me, I need a hot chocolate for Gabe. He'll be pissed if I forget again," I told Thomas.
"I'll just make that one on the house," he said as he went to go make the drinks. I stood at the counter just talking about random things with him before he finished the drinks and got his backpack from behind the counter. "Mum, I'm heading out to school," he yelled to the back of the shop. We walked to school, joking around the entire time.
"Did you get it?" Thomas asked.
"You bet I did," I said as I handed him the drinks. I pulled out my pocket knife from my backpack and showed him. "Batarang pocket knife. Stainless steel, double sided. Ordered it online for twenty bucks and it came in yesterday," I told him as I flipped it around in my hand. I put it back in my backpack before we started walking again.
"That is so cool. I can't believe they finally started making merchandise for all the heroes and villains around here. They might as well make money off of this stuff," Thomas said as he handed me the drinks back.
