ABIGAIL'S P.O.V
Sometime in the chill November.
"I'm hungry though... Make something please."
"Just give me a second. It's almost done. Hold on."
"Now..."
"My gosh Toby I have to write this down right now or else the idea would be gone."
"I'm hungry and you don't care. That's rude."
Sigh. I glimpsed at this grumpy boy. He literally tried to close his eyes with both hands on tummy. That hungry. But I couldn't just abandon my homework again. It's an essay. I should write down all idea before it's gone. Toby knew how I usually got my works done. Either he's just messing with me or he really was hungry.
"Here. Let's eat."
He immediately sat on the couch. "Pancakes!"
"And ice cream." I smiled.
"But we don't have ice cream?" He glared. "Where you going?"
"Sneaked out."
"I love you!"
I smirked. What a wonderful 16-year-old guy he was. This side of him always reminded me of how Connor and Riley told I should get the most patient girlfriend in the world. Toby was not the easy material to handle. Not at all. He would just innocently mess around til you fullfil what he wanted. Just like couple toast of pancakes. And ice cream on top. He pretended to gasp in shocked. Haha. He's happy with that ice cream. And yes in case you cared to ask, I sneaked out while he slept to go to the closest grocery store to buy their usual cup of ice cream only to please the big guy over here. There you go. Welcome to my life.
"This is soooo good!" He pecked my lips.
"You're welcome." I waved from behind my laptop.
"You should really finish the homework because I have something for you." Toby got closer to my ears. "A surprise."
"Wow babe, I'm trying to finish it but a guy was dang starving once upon a time."
"You sassy." He danced around. "I'll be upstairs!"
There. That's Toby James McDonough, ladies and gentlemen. We're in their house, but everybody was literally upstairs in their own room, knocked out since last night, didn't feel like awake yet. I cooked lunch for them, ate together with Toby - oh no, basically I fed him - washed the dishes myself, and a lot more to go on the list. Not to mention I had to deal with homework where as you could see Toby kept interrupting. Now he's full. And falling asleep.
"Hey you Miss Tobius." Connor walked toward me. "What's up?"
"Not much?" I pointed to my journals on the living room table.
"Oh sorry."
He laid his head down on my shoulders. "Con, you're heavy."
"Oh sorry again."
Now he fell his face flat down to the couch. And snored a bit. Put his feet on my lap. What the heck was really going on with the world.
I finally managed to finish the constantly interrupted essay in couple hours. With Connor still snored next to me. I walked upstairs to find Toby. Yes he let the door open. And all same, face down to the pillow. I checked Riley's room. He left the door half opened. Riley was a bit more humanly with his sleep position. The guys were just coming home from radio tour three days ago. Still tired, I know. The parents were more likely out of town. They've been driving back and forth to Tampa because Daddy Mark currently was handling a big surgery in local hospital, and Mom Joan also had her monthly social work. With me around, they felt safe and secured. Another choice of words? I should guard the house.
"Tobs. Done with homework."
I shook his body. No answer.
"Babe c'mon you said so yourself we're going out?"
"Errh..."
"How rude." I slept his shoulder, pretended to sleep too.
"Hun?"
"She's not here." I rolled my eyes.
"Marry me."
I widened my eyes. What the fricken heck. Glad I wasn't showing that stupid expression to him. He murmured. Sleep-talking. But, you know, interesting choice of topic.
"You're a babe, you know that?" Toby rolled my body with a single hand wrap.
"I can't breathe." I struggled. "Toby..."
"'Marry me. Or else..."
"Or what?"
He tightened his wrap. I literally gasped for air.
"Or that."
"Or you kill me? Is that it?"
"Sort of."
"Okay okay! Let me go I swear I can't...b-breathe..."
"Good." He turned my body around and pecked my lips. "Let's get going!"
In a millisecond, Toby grabbed my hand. Well yeah boys and their easy life. Just took a snapback to save a bad hair day. We walked down to the kitchen and passed over the zombie Connor in the living room, still snoring. Toby asked me to lock the front door as he got the car ready for me.
"Where we going?"
"Vegas." He winked. "Nah, not Vegas but you'll love it."
"I sure do."
I chuckled. A life full of surprise. This normal plain not-so-girlfriend material kind of teenager who used to be one of the junior classmates could end up dating the superstar. So yes. My life has been nothing but a stack of surprises.
