That Girl

She walks around
A shadow of the girl she used to be

Silently begging for love
Nobody listens but me

I see your desperate soul
Behind your fake smiles

But you can't trust anyone
You've been hurt too many times

And I stand still
As you run around

Trying to find someone
Who will make it count

And I wonder who
Could ever do this to you

You keep your head down
So no one sees your crying eyes

You scream at yourself
For believing all those lies

And I wish I could help you
To stitch your broken heart

But something's can't be fixed
You should have known that from the start

Girl just pick yourself up
Write some poetry if you can

You fell in love once
You can do it again
