The leaves are falling down on us
Swaying with the wind
Rocking back
And forward
Until they finally meet the floor they once watched from aboveThey look upon the tree they once trusted to keep them safe, and they cry with regret
For being so foolish
To believe in never ending love
And everlasting livesThe wind is having his little fun
Feeding them occasional hopes
Lifting them, a few inches in the air
Only to let them fall again
To be stepped on
Run over
Swept away
And thrown back into their placeThe tree watches her offsprings in pain as she sheds a tear from her empty branches
Cold and Ugly
BranchesShe's left naked, humiliated
And when the wind comes again her arms shall shake
And the leaves will cry with the rain pouring into their mouths while she begs the wind to let them come back homeThe wind came last night to terrorize her again and he whispered sweet nothings in her hears
Promises
He never intended to keep
But were nice to hear anyway
Winter would be over soon and she would love him once again
And be betrayed by him
Again
Just as soon as the seasons changeHe said the leaves were lucky to fall
Some of us never doThings are just as eternal as they are meant to be
