'Well, that definitely was something...' you thought as you stood in the room where you had just confessed your feelings to Levi. You were lost in your thoughts.'Okay, so he doesn't feel the same way about me, as expected. I' hope he doesn't tell Petra about it, I mean, why would he? Gosh, It will be so nerve-wrecking to be near him from now on,' your thoughts were interrupted by Eren walking into the room.
"Hey, Corporal send me back upstairs, he said we have to redo the whole th-.. Are you okay?" Eren suddenly said.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine, why?"
"Your face looks like a tomato." Eren chuckled.
You turned to the window to see your reflection and noticed that Eren was right. Your face really did look like a tomato, you had never blushed this much before. You turned your face away from Eren to prevent him from looking at you as it made you even more embarrassed.
"It's nothing! Don't stare at me like that, you're making me uncomfortable!" You shouted at him.
"Oh, sorry..." Eren said sheepishly.
You got back to work and had to clean everything again, both you and Eren thought this day would never end. It turned out that you and Eren had a lot of things in common. You found out he was from Shiganshina like you and had also lost his parents. Both of you quickly became friends, despite the short time you spent together.
"(Y/n)?" Eren asked.
"Yes?"
"You look like there's something bothering you, is something wrong?" Eren put down the mop he used to clean the shelves with.
"Not really, I guess I'm just tired." You pretended to yawn to convince Eren.
"Okay, but if you want to talk about it,-"
"I'm fine Eren, seriously." You cut him off and gave him a faint smile. You appreciated his desire to help you, since you were noticeably upset about how Levi so bluntly rejected you. But you didn't want to tell Eren about it because you saw no point in dragging him into the mess you made yourself. At around 7 p.m. you were finally done cleaning and went downstairs to have your dinner. When both of you got there, everyone was already sitting down and enjoying the meal.
"We thought you two would never finish." Oluo chuckled and Petra lightly punched his shoulder. You and Eren sat down - Eren sat directly across form Levi, Gunther and Eld to his right, Oluo and Petra to his left. Unfortunately for you, Petra asked you to sit with her and that meant, next to Corporal Levi. You avoided any eye-contact with him and remained quiet the whole time, breaking your silence only to answer your teammate's questions. Later, your teammates were discussing the upcoming mission.
"I heard we're supposed to be going on a large-scale extramural expedition and we'll be taking the new graduates with us as well." Eld said.
"Seriously? Even considering how well they handled the last titan attack, why subject them to that kind of danger again?" Gunther stepped in.
"Is that all true, Corporal?" Petra asked.
"Mission planing isn't my responsibility, it's Erwin's. He's likely considering far more variables that might occur to us." Levi said, his left arm resting on the table. You accidentally looked at him, making eye-contact. A slight blush appeared on your cheeks but for some reason, you couldn't look away.
