Alexandria's POV-
"Wake up sweetie," my mom said.
"Noooo....later....not now," I muttered. This is a dream. A dream where my mom won't let me sleep.
"Honey this isn't a dream," my mother laughed. My eyes snapped open and I sat up.
"Wha...well why're you waking me up at such an ungodly hour?" I whine.
"Honey. I let you sleep till 10," she points at the clock, "And it's Christmas, don't tell me you forgot again this year."
Oh. Just Christmas. ... Hold up. CHRISTMAS! I forgot again. Wow. I have an awful memory. Like seriously. I jumped out of bed and pushed past my mother. I headed to my closet. I took out the most Christmas-y thing I owned and a little Santa hat with a bell on it.
"I'm gonna change mom!" I yell and walk into the bathroom. I have to hurry. I need my presents. I turn on the shower and take my clothes off.
I step in and lather myself with soap. I make sure not to get my hair wet though. I don't want to re-straighten it and wash it. I turn off the shower and step out. I dry myself off and put on my Christmas outfit. It consists of red skinny jeans, a green tank top, some white converses, and a candy cane Santa hat with a golden jingle bell on the point if the hat.
It's horrid to some people but it looks good on Christmas.
I brush my hair before putting on my hat. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I put the hat on and apply some eyeliner. I finish and take one last look at myself in the mirror before exiting the bathroom.
"Give me a shot to remember, and you can take all the pain away from m-" I pick up my phone.
"Hello?"
"HEY GIRL!" Angel shouts.
"Hey! You and your family still coming to the dinner tonight?" I ask. We have this special Christmas dinner every year with everyone of my parent's friends. Meaning my friends get to come too.
"Yeah girl, oh hold up I'm getting a message on Kik," she says and I can hear the clicking keys in the background and her laugh. "Ok bac-" she starts but get cut off by coughing. I wait patiently for her to finish. Actually I'm laughing because it sounds like she's choking on her spit. "Ooh...Sorryyy!" she finished. I'm still laughing.
"What was that?!" I clutch my stomach.
"It's not my fault don't laugh at me!" she starts to laugh but then coughs again which makes me die on the bed. "Anywayyyysss," she says.
"Mhm?" I ask.
"Merry Christmas!" she yells then hangs up. Awkward and rude. Just. No. Whatever. I open the door and put my phone in my pocket. I run downstairs and go to where the tree is. I see my parents there talking about the dinner tonight so I sit.
"Ready to start?" my dad notices me and flicks out the camera. Oh god. Someone help me. I never liked Christmas pictures. But sadly I can't escape them so I'm doomed every year until I move out. Which might not even stop then. I look at the tree for the first time since they put it up. Under it are various colored presents with candy canes or snowmen or anything related to winter.
