You really thought you were a goner. But at the last second before the boogers hit you, they were sliced, and they flew past you, the houses behind you exploding. Astounded, you uncovered your face behind your hands and looked at what had occurred for you to survive the attack unharmed. In front of you, there was Zoro, who had sliced the boogers with his white katana. A smile made its way to your face, and you beamed happily.
"You're such a trouble," the swordsman sighed and glanced at you with his peripheral vision. You frowned at his words, but quickly turned your head in the direction the evil duo ran, chasing the blue-haired girl. "I gotta continue," Zoro bid, jumping to a balcony and running after the weird people.
"Thank you!" You yelled to Minty before he disappeared from your view. Tilting your head in confusion, you suddenly wondered why Zoro was part of the big chase going on. Was he chasing the duo or the duck chick? "That was weird," you muttered aloud and walked in the direction they all came from.
While you walked the road ahead, you saw the mayor of the town lying down near the houses at the corner of the alley. Getting closer, you could see that he was pretty beaten up looking, maybe gotten hit with those exploding boogers or something. You also noticed Nami sitting on a barrel next to the major, seemingly chit-chatting with the man. When you got closer, both of their attentions shifted to you, and the major appeared to be somewhat surprised by your appearance.
"Oh, (F/n)," Nami greeted you, and you raised your palm for a greeting.
"I'm surprised you're awake," the major exclaimed, puzzled. You furrowed your brows, trying to figure out what his problem was. "You're a witch, right?"
"Umm yeah," you answered unsurely, raising your other brow and looking at the man expectantly, waiting for him to say what he was getting at.
"We put holy water in your champagne and surrounded the couch you were sleeping on with salt to keep you from moving," he explained to you with such seriousness, and you giggled, amused.
"Well, first off, holy water is such a myth," you corrected him, raising one finger and bending your upper body down towards the major in the ground. "And I assume the salt wasn't black salt," you stated to him. You hadn't even noticed any salt in the dark, but no wonder, because the attempt to trap you had proven to be futile.
"No, sea salt," he answered, defeated and utterly clueless.
"Well, then it did nothing," you shrugged joyfully. Without giving him any further explanation, he was left dumbfounded. "So, what the hell is going on here anyway?" You asked Nami when you could hear more explosions once again.
"The blue-haired girl who got a ride from us is actually a princess," the ginger started explaining, and you nodded eagerly, curious to hear the whole thing. "And those two, you perhaps saw chasing her, are agents of Baroque Works. They are here to finish her, but I promised to aid in saving her if the kingdom would pay us 1 billion berries."
"Sounds like a pretty good deal," you hummed as you placed your fingers on your chin and tried to calculate the real value of that money. But you couldn't, because you had a way different and weaker currency in your home island. "How much is that, though?"
"Like five big ships," Nami told you, weirded out by your narrow knowledge. You hummed loudly, understanding now the value of berries. "Keep that in mind, in these seas, understanding of money matters the most."
"Duly noted," you chirped and got a proud smile from Nami. It seems that money was her specialty, or perhaps even an obsession. You didn't care too much, what you couldn't create; you could sweep from someone else. "But what is Baroque Works?"
