"I'm bored. Nobody is freaking out because of me anymore," the demon on your shoulder complained into your ear. "Usopp is too focused on his tinkering, so he won't pay attention to my spiteful words, promising bad," the demon muttered, defeated. "There is no chance to bother anyone else because they, and you, including, would just kick me around," the devil on your shoulder told you while faking a tear. "Why are you ignoring me, scared that I'll influence you to do something very wrong?" The cattish demon suddenly piped up.
You side-eyed him, pausing reading the ancient texts of witchcraft for one short moment so that you could grant some of your attention to the attention-seeking demon. He was bored to his skull while you were still sailing towards the island called Little Garden.
You had been skimming through your many books all morning and afternoon, hoping to find something related to Alabasta. You had already read some trivia about it from a travel book you got from Vivi, where it was described as a big sandy island with a long history, especially with its kingdom. But from your witchy books, you hadn't found even one reference. So you let the demon give you a small break.
"Influence me to do what? To burn this ship and leave you to drown with the rest of them?" You asked, obviously sarcastically. But the individual who had entered the room to get some metal for his tinkering didn't recognize it as sarcasm.
"What will you do?!!" The long-nose yelled, scared enough to alert the aliens. He grabbed the stained steel cross from his chest pocket and pointed it towards you while putting an onion necklace around his neck. "I-I-I will prevent that from happening!" He mustered up the little courage he had.
You smirked and thought this was a perfect chance to try a new spell you had perhaps learned by now. You crossed your fingers, scaring Usopp even more, and made him think that you were actually after their lives. He darted out of the room with a screech, alerting the other crew members. But made a sudden stop in his tracks when you appeared in front of him with your fingers still crossed.
"What the-?!" Usopp yelled, still scared but surprised as well. Now he had to worry about you appearing out of nowhere and scaring him even more. Luci, still on your shoulder, playfully hissing at Usopp on top of all this.
"Wow, (F/n), that was cool!" Luffy rejoiced, clapping his hands while a piece of meat was hanging from his mouth. "Do it again! Do it again!"
"No, don't do it again!" Usopp shivered and then furrowed his brows and pointed at you. "She wants to burn this ship and kill us!"
"Eh?" Nami questioned dumbfoundedly, appearing by your side after getting lured to the main desk by all the noise. Vivi was at her side and looked doubtful as well.
"Usopp, I get that you are scared of me, but that was sarcasm, sweetheart," you explained to him, like an adult to a child. He really needed to lower his volume; his voice alone was making your eardrums bleed.
"Call me sweetheart, darling!~" Sanji beamed with heart eyes and skipped towards you. "You should enjoy her sweet words while they last," enviously the blonde grumbled to the long-nose, who, scared, looked at the knives in Sanji's hands. Was he in the midst of cooking something?
"I guess I misunderstood," Usopp gulped, vanquished.
"You don't say," you sighed and scratched your scalp from frustration with this scaredy cat.
"You didn't, that is still the plan," Luci laughed with a deep and rough villainous voice. You fake-laughed with the demon before setting him on the ground by his tail.
At this point, everyone was focused back on their own doings. Luffy was sitting on the Jolly Roger, humming excitedly and chewing bones, while Nami and Vivi went back to the women's quarters to analyze the route to Alabasta. Zoro continued training with his heavy weights while Usopp went back to the storage for the metals. You quietly followed Sanji to the kitchen without him noticing, with the small demon cat close behind you. You were curious what he was making and decided to go beg for some tea.
